Well, first off /setperform buffs the person you're targeting. If that person is in a group, then anyone watching you during that amount of time will also receive a buff. If you flourish every 2-3 seconds (I believe), then you can buff in about 3 minutes. Otherwise you have to dance for at least 5 minutes.
Personally I charge 5k for a public buff, and at least 10k for a private dance/buff.

Please ignore Amethysts advice. I mean no disrespect, but what she told you was incorrect.
To buff a single person not in your group... target the person and use /setperform. They also need to be watching you.
To buff more than one person at a time. You have to be in the group with them, they all have to watch you. (Note: you can also buff another person at the same time who isn't in your group, using /setperform as above.)
Once you have the person watching you and have them in group or have used setperform you dance. To do a full duration (2 hour) buff in the minimum time, you'll want to flourish 5 times every 8 seconds for 3 minutes and 12 seconds. The less your flourish, the longer it takes to get full duration.
That's really all there is to know.

I don't see how this is different from what I wrote. The 'they need to be watching you' part is a given.

This is what is incorrect:
If that person is in a group, then anyone watching you during that amount of time will also receive a buff.
People who are grouped with the dancer, not the /setperform subject, will receive a buff if they watch for the required amount of time.
If you flourish every 2-3 seconds (I believe), then you can buff in about 3 minutes. Otherwise you have to dance for at least 5 minutes.
Also incorrect. Performing the maximum duration "quick buff" requires 5 flourishes every 8 seconds for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Flourishing every 2-3 seconds for 3 minutes will *not* give the maximum duration buff. And even 5 minutes is not enough time if you are flourishing seldom or not at all.

Yes I should have said the dancer needs to be in the group if buffing the group. I do know what I am talking about though. I've been master dancer for awhile now. Just because my advice was worded differently, does not make it flat out "incorrect" and the fact that you said to simply "ignore" my post was really quite rude. I'm not an idiot

1) Don't be so oversensitive.
2) Your advice wasn't "worded differently," it was incorrect.
3) Don't be so oversensitive.
People grouped with a /setperform target will not also be buffed. A dancer flourishing every 2 seconds will not give a min-time buff. Your understanding was incorrect, or your wording was incorrect. Either way, your advice was incorrect. Pointing this out is not only not rude, but necessary to provide an accurate answer to the OP's question.
You were mistaken. It happens. Nobody's going to think less of you for it. In fact, there are few greater metersticks of a person's maturity than their ability to acknowledge and take responsibility for being wrong.

I just recently mastered dancer and I am unsure of how to do the buffs. I understand that there are both individual and group buffs but I don't know how to actually do them. Also I heard that there is a food item that enhances the buffing but which one is it. Lastly if anyone could tell me how much to charge for buffs, what to expect when buffing, how much to pay for the food item, and any other tidbits of info I would greatly appreciate all the help you guys could give.
Thanks

Getting back on topic...
So how long does it take to do those 5 flourishes? I.e., if I want to write a buffing macro, and I don't have enough action to flourish continually, how much of a pause (if any) can I put after each group of 5 flourishes?
I'm pretty sure I could flourish continually for three minutes or so, but the one time I saw masters buffing at the Dathomir outpost, they were buffing a steady stream of people nonstop.

Since every time I help someone by giving them the answer to a question I get low star ratings, I don't think I will be bothering to help anyone any more. I never intended to insult anyone, I never intended to be rude (I even prefaced my correction with a disclaimer along those lines), I merely wanted to be sure the original person asking the question got the information they needed.
I'm sorry for trying to help, I just get beat up every time I do. Good bye.
