I'm going up dancer again, and this time I'd try and get over my shyness and write some songs to pass time. I've been having problems though, not only with me feeling that the lyrics and songs themselves are stupid, but with the timing (/pauses and so forth). I feel, just being by myself in a group with a bunch of afk entertainers, that I'm just adding to the spam, and that no one really cares whether an entertainer is actually there to entertain or not. It's kind of frustrating... I'm thinking it might be my songs, so I'm coming to this board for help. Here's a little song I wrote, it's exceedingly simple, but I thought maybe some of you could help me with timing, or maybe lyrics. I'd love positive and negative feedback... anything helps! Or maybe trying to entertain while grinding is a lost cause unless it's /blowing kisses and giggling

/sigh, here it goes.

Take the skyway into the night,;

into the night, into the night,;

prepare for the journey baby,;

get ready for one heck of a flight,;

Hop on the space winnebego,;

Strap on your seat belt,;

Cos, baby it's jump to light speed,;

and we're ready to go!;

Take the skyway into the night,;

into the night, into the night,;

prepare for the journey baby,;

get ready for one heck of a flight,;

Pay your troubles at home no heed,;

Cos we'rejumping to lightspeed;

Off into the endless night;

Endless night! Yeah!;

A cantina is so full of spam to day that a lot of singing will just add to the noise. I think its cool you are trying to write songs but use them sparingly. I worked up entertainer and musician in two ways. The first and major part was ATK in the big groups. I was lucky there were usually a few people present to have fun with I had people to chat with. The other was to sit on the side and form a much smaller ATK group with the other ATK performers, especially a friend who was doing dancer at the same time. This was, by far, the less rewarding points wise and the most rewarding entertainer wise.

The key is to not think of it as a grind or master as the only place where you can be any good. Work on your flows, try to make pleasing performances, get to know the few others who are ATK. You might get lucky like I did and make some good friends who master about the same time as you. Those friends now join my little side group of ATK performers for a great time most days. We are also getting recognized by the non-entertainers and usually get a decent crowd around our small group who enjoy chatting with us as they heal or get buffs.
