What effect does ignoring people have? It's hard to remember all the names of people I do not want anything to do with but the ignore list helps with that. But what if I'm buffing? Do I get to see them inviting me to their group? What if someone else invites me but the ignored ones are in that group? Do they get my mindbuff too? Any way to realy exclude a person without remembering all the names and checking them all the time?

The best (and really only) way to enforce not buffing people you don't want to buff is luckily also the simpliest:
Buff actively, not passively.
If someone is on your ignore list, then you can't hear them ask for a setperform. /shrug

The command is /deny <name> but it isn't very useful. It is only good for the current login session and the person has to be close enough to target for you to be able to use it. Worthless command unless you want to keep a list by the machine and enter the command when you see someone from the list come into the cantina.

Or you can type /notepad (or /note) to open your ingame notepad. If you see somebody that you think may be on your s-list, just type /note again and check it
(Edit: I've charged people up front that have stiffed me for buffs at other timesby doing this.)

It would be so nice if we could get the /denyservice list to be persistent and viewable, just like friends and ignore. We've asked for something like this many, many times. I hope that at some point in the future when we get some profession "love," this might be a possibility. Along with fixing registration, a buffing interface, enhancements to deny (like deny guild or deny faction commands), etc., etc.

eww, denial of faction? That's a little rough.

I would jump all over a /denyfaction REBEL command
but then I was always a little rough
Ohhhh, and then back on the topic of the post =) .... I have a happy message in my bio that alerts people to the fact that I use my /ignore religiously for spammers or people who offend me. I keep a paper list by my comp of people I refuse to service for one reason or another, and I put the reason on my list, too. so when I see 'em I just /denyservice right away... it does take people off guard to get the /denyservice message, and it freaks 'em out even more when I remind them why they are on my 'bad list'.

I want this in the future as well.
But ONLY after AFKing is gone.
