While doing the SP Jam last night, we dancers were grouped with the musicians that were their, small group in all don't think we hit the 10 member mark at any time, while we dancers had our /bandflos going, it didn't totally keep us in sync, now we were trying to firgure it out why we couldn't stay in sync, first we thought it was lag, then maybe one of us had another macro going we didn't know quiet what was going on here, so it seems as though the musician /bandflos were keeping us from being in sync, would this be a agreeable assumtion?

If that's so, shouldn't their be a way to turn off musician /bandflos from dancers, and vise versa for musicians, when their's such a small group.

The Cantina Crawls and other large eventsI can see being seperate in, as the groups are big enough anyway.

I and a group of two friends were doing /bandflos on the new dances the night they went live and they weren't in sync at all.

I'm pretty sure it was lag... with just being three of us, it was pretty easy to recognize that what was happening was the person who initiated the bandflo would start first and then there was a pause between when the rest of us would start. We compared pings and were about the same, so I think it's just this HORRID server side lag we've had lately.

Yeah the leader is almost always out of sync. One solution is to have the leader do a slightly different dance. A group of us were dancing at cnet doing exotic4....we had 5, I was leading, they made a square and I was in the center doing exotic 2...it looked nice, and you my being off wasn't as noticeable. Another cool thing about the exotics in groups is the shimmy is the same for all...so that can pull it all together.

You can take turns being leader so no one feels left out and everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame.

Musician bandflourishes have no impact on dancers at all. Mostlikely it was someone in the group with a macro running or lag. We had a 16 person group in the starport this weekend doing a big line dance with a musician and several droids. his bandflourishes to control the droids did not impact our synchronization. However when the crowd got to be umm... large we did have synchor problems with those with the most lag, often they would miss flourishes entirely.

Another big contributing factor is the different length of flourishes, and if you happen to not start all at the same time.
For example, we have dancer1 and dancer2.
dancer1 does /startdance basic; /bandflourish 8;
dancer2 does /startdance basic, but shortly after dancer1, so she misses the bandflourish.
While dancer1 is still doing the long long animation from flourish 8, her macro does a /bandflourish 4. This makes dancer2 start flourish 4, but dancer1 is still busy finishing flourish 8.
dancer1's flourish 8 finishes, and her macro does a /bandflourish 2. dancer1 does flourish 2, but since dancer2 is still doing the animation from flourish 4, and misses the bandflourish.
This leads to a long, if not infinite, time before the dancers get back in sync. I had a few dancers with this problem last night when we were worshipping the musician in the middle. I was able to resync them by telling them when to /b off and /b on .
