Thread: Does everyone use Mind Enhancement Tapes?

I see a lot of people asking for these, but am not sure they drastically affect your mind buff? Will a +1 do anything?

It'll add 1% to the buff. *shrug*

The thing about skill tapes is that they cost fortunes to acquire, but don't reallybenefit the dancer.
As many have noted, a live dancer offering 115% buffs, for example, dancing in a cantina where a 100% buffing buffbot is situated, still isn't pulling the clients in droves away from the bots. Nor can we really charge significantly more for the higher buffs, in practice. The higher buffs, as things currently stand, can benefit the people we buff with better stats, but we're not really getting anything out of the bargain. Most dancers I know, when they think about it, aren't willing to spend millions upon millions of credits on tapes, if they even have the money in the first place,when they won't ever break even, let alone make more money from such expenses.
A weaponsmith with two extra experimentation points from +skill SEA's stands to make significantly more money as a result of those exp. points, so the expense of acquiring tapes is well worth it. Generally speaking, the same cannot be said for dancers or musicians.
Really, it's your call if you want to go for the extra points from tapes. Certainly, if you get them as gifts, or for a great price, it might wellbe worthwhile. My opinion... at the prices being asked today for these things, I won't touch them unless I personally loot them, or they're given to me by friends.
