Well, I learned last night that being a Neutral Pilot as a Dancer is a great thing. I did my first three Privateer missions, and I was rewarded with a Mercenary Bandoleer, which works as a backpack! I had to cut myself off from the game after I got it so I didn't get to play around with how much room it has, but it looks like Dancers may have a new alternative to storage space with this bandoleer.

It can hold 50 items, just like a pack =)

Yay! That's great news! I'm not overly fond of Bandoleers, but at least you can work an outfit around them alot easier than the bulky backpack!

Except one thing you need to remember about privateers - they are supposed to becriminal types and are aligned with the Hutts if I remember correctly from beta. Freelance pilots - the ones the Emperor of SOE won't allow to fly -are, to my understanding, the only truly neutral pilots. If they were put back in the game, I'd be interested.

No, you're right. The Privateers are really aligned with the Hutts. That's not a big problem for me since that's the direction I want my character going in to begin with. They also have Corsec and RSF ones too, but again, they are still "aligned" with a NPC faction. Neutrality is unfortuantely the best word for not choosing to be a Rebel or Imperial whatever.

I was just impressed that they have an alternative for backpacks that can be used in game. I know alot of dancers that have said they'd like to see something that can be used for holding things on their person that isn't a backpack. This is just an option that is available. It may be tradeable, which would make the pilot thing irrelevant.

It may also be craftable...
The report I heard over the ent channel last night was "they made bandoliers hold stuff!" without regard to it being a specific bandolier.
I've yet to travel back to my house to pick up the bandolier I've had forever (it was the first piece of clothing I ever looted) and try it out, but it may be a general change?

A general change would be even better! I have no clue, as I was never fond of the whole bandoleer thing. However, I was just playing with JTL and got the item as a reward. Since the rebels and imperials are getting flightsuits for their faction, I was not sure if this wasn't a specific bonus for the quest or not. Craftable will certainly make it a more viable and frequent option.

Any tailors out there who can maybe verify this right now?

Well... my tailor cannot make a bandolier which holds items... she can make a Mercenary Bandolier, but you can't put anything in it. It seems like a special item.
