I try to avoid all forms of endearment with strangers. It creates weirdness.
The first time I called someone babe in guildchat there was an awkward silence. Then I got three tells asking "Are you a girl?"
Apparently, being a wookiee, it had not been noticed.
ROFL
Poor Paks.
This whole male/female issue is one that SHOULDN'T matter... but it does to nearly everyone in SOME way. Some people seem to take it as a personal offense that anyone would DARE project anything other than their RL gender.
Wow and suddenly I just don't care enough about this topic to write anything else.
QFE on the male/female thing. I play all female toons and im a male. I was talking to pappi the other day in eisley and some nub came up to me...and was like: Thats a male...my whole guild knows you are a male. And I said,"Your point is?". And this kid just said,"You are a male playing a female character...". And i said,"Your point is...".
its a game, we do as we choose. my choice to play a male or female toon does not infrindge up others gaming experiences. i give nubs like the above the ZZZ stamp of boringness, kthx plz find something else to troll me on.
*lick*

I LOVE PANTHU COOKIES IN THE MOOOOOOORNIN'!
I played a female in EQ for four years. I did it reasonably well and I leanred alot about how women get treated in the online environment. However, the strain of projecting an 'unnatural' (for me as a man)persona over such a long period wore on me over time. It's one of the chief reasons I choose to be a male in SWG. Constantly reminding myself torespond in a feminine way (specifially, the personality I had created for her) became a bit tedious and not fun all the time, even ifithad become second nature to me after the first year or so. However, I had no choice at that point, I had to continue or reroll. And, for those that played EQ, you know how painful itcould be to start over.
Still, the experience was educational, and it taught me much about women and why it is they react to men how they do at times. It also gave me a new appreciation for how bad some pick-up lines can sound. ![]()
tbh though i dont see the point of concealing your gender, if youre male say so. Playing a female toon has taught me why many RL females dont though...
Tbh though i get more worried about the bothans...
For me, it's mostly the spelling of that particular word that makes me crazy. Fuschia's betrothed uses it too, but he's also British, which may have something to do with it. At least I think he does. Lord, I don't know, it's too early.
P.S. I am not a Todd. ![]()

Thinking over it, there lies some truth in the initial post... we could start calling people cossak...
After all, referring to people always as hun might be seen as ethnological offensive...
Thanks, cossak! It was nice of you to bring this up as an alternative. Wait...suddenly I feel like Chekov on Star Trek, but, but...he was a guy! Oh, my brian hurts.
Fuschia, Darlin even Todds need love to.... and if i didnt know about the old house in the GAT way back i would know your not one
and hello all im new to the forums but not to SWG or dancing ...
I just found this thread to be entirely confusing....
I think I'll stay with my standby method....
Assume everyone is both. That way part of me is deeply troubled but the other half is ok with it![]()
