The dancer is one of very few professions I've ever seen in these kinda games I've played (EQ, DAOC, AC, AOL, and E&B) that gives exp for roleplaying....

except its ruined by AFK dancers...

The original reason that I became a dancer was because I REALLY sucked at being a marksman.

I decided to look for another job that I could do, and since my friends had all taken Artisan, Medic, and Scout as their jobs (with brawler or marksman as a secondary one, usually) I decided to go with Entertainer to fill the gap. Then, the sheer repetetiveness of the music, and the issues I had with not being able to play in a group if they wanted an advanced song, pushed me towards dancing. I thought that the dances were kind of cool, and I realized another important fact:

Dancers wore skimpy clothing.

This one revelation prompted me to blow a lot of money on skimpy clothes so I could have some eye candy for myself as I played the game. (Of course, then they nerfed the bodysuits... Making it almost impossible to find skimpy male clothing).

Gradually, my decision to be the "group entertainer" for my friends, led to me making other Dancer friends and getting into the social aspect of the Cantinas. Even though I AFK macroed at night and while at class, I always had more fun with the social part of it. (And before you flame me, I have since realized exactly HOW afking hurts dancers as a whole, so I have ceased. And had I known from the beginning, I wouldn't have done it.)

I'm not really a roleplayer. I play myself in the cantina; it's just a version of myself that's a bit more outgoing, and a bit more blue and Twi'lekky. I just like being social, and dancing gives me something fun to watch while I chat with people.

Good point, and one we often forget (me included). Socializing and RPing are not the same thing. They frequently go together, but they don't have to.

Of course the bartle scale measures socializing tendency NOT roleplay tendancy, so we have to remember that when looking at the results.

Stupid test

Got killer and Socializer as joint first at 60% (going to ram the test down the throat of whoever made it up, then calmly will explain why it's wrong)

Why am I a dancer, Well I thought it would be funny being a bothan dancer. And in beta madea great group of friends in the cantina, and hoped live would be the same. Not really true, as most of the people i got master dancer with have now either quit the game or the profession. For some reasonI alsowent musican and entertainer too, I guess for those times when a fleshwrap just isn't enough

Sure I can't kill very well, but I still get taken on hunts (I seem to spend more time with a gun in my paw (for bothans they are paws right?) then i do entertaining) even if it is just for my wonderful personality

Humm what was the question again?
