With the exception of bathroom breaks and getting something cold to drink, I did Master Entertainer, Novice Dancer, Novice Musician, Dance Knowledge 4, Dance Techniques 2, and Music Knowledge 1 all ATK. I plan on getting dance tech 4, music know 4 and music tech 4 all ATK as well. I didn't look at it as a grind but more of a learning process to better understand the professions.

Entertainer Upgrade would be wonderfull. Things I would love to see...
1. Give us some more usefullness in a group setting and variety of buffs. I.E. buff effect for the group while out hunting while we are actively in the group (like a bard type of buffing) Say enhanced accuracy or damage.. or defense..
2. If you don't want afk entertainers.. most don't.. lets give that entertainer grind some sort of tweak so you aren't just there watching yourself dance or play. Maybe like the surveying thing.. you get extra exp or healing bonus if you do this particular flourish at such time.. etc.( I would love to hear from one person that didn't go afk for some time while doing an entertainer grind.)
3. Please give us dancers more dances and flourishes. I got to master Dancer and was not impressed wtih what I could now do.
4. Theme parks.. I saw this a while ago somewhere that entertainers were getting a theme park or it was an idea. I think that is a great and wonderfull thing. Would be great to entertain Jabba or the emperor, etc. We can always fall into a Ranco pit if we stink too. Some rewards could be buff benefit or healing clothing.. new instruments.. obviously new songs or flourishes.. effects .. microphones.. stuff to alter our performances and make them cool to watch. This could be run as you have to figure out what dance and flourish that particular npc likes.. make it a puzzle type of theme park. Figure out stuff for npc's along the way and learn more of what your audience wants from you.. in the end you do your performance. Lets make it an instance thing/variable code..s o that the formula doesn't get posted on the forums for all do just repeat.
5. Entertainers do seriously need more cash.. I think during my entire grind to master I got tipped 5k. Took me about a month or so to do. That didn't even cover the clothes for my character. Need an alt to support her.
6. How about some other neat clothes like costumes to go with our performances.

I've mastered Entertainer, Dancer and Musician 3 times each since launch & I've been ATK for every flourish. If I need to leave for a drink or break, I sit my avatar down. A lot of people have accused me of lying when I state this..there are witnesses. If you dislike something so much that you can't be bothered to beat the computer to play..find another game.

Well... here's person number three. The only afk that I did during master entertainer and master dancer was for bathroom or drink breaks. I always told my group that I was going and let them know that I was back. I'm currently working on a little bit of music and I am doing that grind with my musician droid. He's better company than the cantinas lately, and we can play something other than Star Wars 1.
Back in the day, I ALWAYS kicked people who were afk for more than 15 minutes, and the other people in my group cheered when I did it, because THEY only left the keyboard for bathroom or drink break.

You know, I naively tried to AFK dance at one point before I understood what harm it was doing to my beloved profession - only the system or my pc wouldn't allow it. When I did try to dance AFK at night I would get kicked off the server after about half an hour.
I guess the gods were trying to tell me something . . .

hahah! Aye, I danced live at the keyboard from start to finish - loved every minute of it. It wasn't until I had obtained my master tag that I learnt how to make a macro in the first place. But my way oftreating AFK was much like Kyree - if people were going to glog up the groups by being afk, then I had no qualms in booting them.It became common knowledge at Theed for a time that if I had group lead all long-term AFKs recieved the imprint of my foot on their backside. For a short time also, it became well known that all AFK players were to reside themselves in the alcoves on the left or right hand side of the cantina to keep the floor clear for the real performers, but alas, as the AFK-plague increased, it became harder to enforce. To this day, I still boot all afks - and heaven forbid I find you AFK in MY CANTINA, because not only will you be booted and banned to the doorstep, but the local kimos are somewhat "attracted" to fresh meat.
Also, wanted to say good work to Kyorlana's post - another well written and detailed compilation of what entertainers not only want, but deserve. Kudos.

My own computer tends to miss-behave if I'm not present too. I can't always depend on staying online while there, let alone if I were to leave it for alone for any length of time.

Here are a few of my dreams for Entertainers.
1. Make mind buffing recordable thu like a holo-card that cannot be sold on vendors(maybe no drop items)so that entertainers have to be live to sell them via the trade window.
2. Let Entertainers create or be key in content. Lets say that Entertainers can give out smuggler missions or faction spy missions to players. Maybe these missions can be key to badges or expendable loot items. I would love it if we had to do quests that would open the doors to group size missions like the Corvette!
3. Right now in the combat game at high levels and in the PVP game you must be duel combat classes to reach the upper level creatures and to be good in the GCW. I am not asking that a Single Combat Class character be as good as a duel, that should not be. What I would like to see is that Title level Dancers get defence bonuses so that they can be closer to the level of a Duel Combat Class player.
Like Dancers should get Dizzy Resists and KnockDown Resists at least increases to Melee defence or Dodge as good or better than a Pistoleer or at par with a Fencer. So that someone that wants to be a Dancer can also be competitive with other players instead of acting like our skill points spent doing nothing beyond the cantina.

4. I would love to see something competitive for all the Entertainers like their is in the Force Ranking System. Where entertainers strive to reach the largest amount of players to be come STARS! Lets face it in the real world all the entertainers want to be the Next Big Thing. So give us something that will make us compete!
Thanks all.

Heh, well, that's an interesting reason to request collision detection on cantina items. *snickers* And to think, I only ever brought it up because Dancers don't like dancing through them... what kind of corr was I?!?

My BIGGEST DREAM is that a Entertainer buff would last as long as a Docs so the buffs dont get out of sync and you DONT waist all yoru time running back and forth for Doc and Ent Buffs. If the doc buff is 3 hours then Ent buffs should be that long too
