I agree, but that misses my point. I have no problem with entertainers being friendly. I do have a big problem with people tipping based purelyon the friendliness of the entertainer. Tips are for service. If we are to assume that the service is the smile (since that's what most customers [and many dancers]seem to think they're paying for), then we're little more than prostitutes - selling a contrived friendliness for a few credits. I read people's posts all the time saying (paraphrasing) that "in order to get good tips I always smile/hug the customer". How sad that this selling of pretendedfriendliness is deemed necessary. Sadder stillthat the dancers whoare ofthis opinion seem to regard their dancingskill as beingso unworthy of compensation.
