Well, I think I can win at least half of this fifty right now. Our dev logged on to TC right after it came up from patching last night to see how it went. He warped to us in the Cantina minutes after he logged in and stayed for a long time to watch. He did some kind of information gathering while he had Tiaga blink in and out with the prop bug. Seani was also there who is a Musician and a very TC active QA. She told us that she had already reported the bug as well, so that one is known.

All of the Ent corrs came out to test and even a lot of the non-Ent corrs and glowies. So, if this does somehow slip to Live, it won't be because it wasn't noticed. Attention we've got!

Lilo, Scip, Eshie, and TechnoCan all have good notes now, so I'm pretty confident these bugs won't slip through the cracks.

I'll take that bet with Panthu, but for a different reason.

If the visual bugs make it live, it will impact PvP and the GCW. Exploiters will start taking novice entertainer and whatever is needed to get use of the glowstick, then they will run around with a glowstick in their offhand. This will make them difficult to target since they will be invisible to most people.

Resource requirements for props are very low and they require no named resources (all are generic). All of them may be crafted with either a Generic or General Tool & Weapon crafting tool. None require a crafting station. All have a left and right version and can be dual wielded. No xp is gained from crafting. The schematics' resource requirements are as follows.

Double Mystical Ribbon - 20 units organic, 50 units fiberplast, 20 units gemstone.

Double Ribbon - 20 units organic, 50 units fiberplast.

Double Sparkle Ribbon - 20 units organic, 50 units fiberplast, 20 units metal.

Glowstick - 15 units metal, 10 units chemical, 5 units chemical.

Mystical Ribbon - 15 units organic, 25 units fiberplast, 10 units gemstone.

Ribbon - 15 units organic, 25 units fiberplast.

Sparkle Ribbon - 15 units organic, 25 units fiberplast, 10 units metal.

Sparkler - 10 units metal, 10 units chemical, 15 units metal.

Staff - 20 units metal, 5 units hide.

Sword - 20 units metal, 10 units metal, 5 units hide.

Torch - 20 units metal, 20 units organic.

Don't get hung up on just the "new stuff" folks, there are also changes to the way xp is granted, and at the moment it's looking like Inspirations are broken. At the very least I could not give/receive/selfbuff. There are core things you need to be checking and /bug reporting.

Many graphics bugs on the new props too. As well as minor UI glitches.

There may be frogs on TC- 'fin but dont just jump to master. Stand side by side with a musician and compare notes on xp per tick you get, for each new song/dance/instrument. There is a LOT of weirdness going on with it. Check it, test it, report it, or its gonna come to live this way.

PS- the only people that came into Mos Eisley cantina on TC-prime were there to do New Player Epxerience and left without a word I foresee this happening across the galaxies, but will reserve comment for now.

I agree, there are a lot of glitches/bugs with those new things.

As Novice Entertainer I can't self-inspiration buff myself, and I could not get inspiration buff from another entertainer. Not sure if from Novice Dancer/musician upwards it works.

At Novice Entertainer (pure novice) I got 20 Dance XP and 10 Inspiration for Basic, but I got 30 Music XP and 10 Inspiration for Starwars1 on the slitherhorn.

I assume the inspiration bug comes from the following: Earlier Inspiration was tied to the skill "Wound Healing (Dancer/Musician)". Now those got renamed. Two possibilities. Either:
a) They simply forgot to change the Inspiration buff to look for Dance Enhancement and its still looking for Wound Healing which it never finds anything about and doesn't buff.
b) Since WH started to be granted at Novice ENtertainer and given in the EH branch (a bit)you could buff as Novice Entertainer. Now the first skillbox that gives Dance/Music Enhancement is Novice Dancer rsp. Musician. So the system checks the right skill, sees "Oh skill of 0, you can't buff".

I assume its b) if Dancer/Musicians have no problem buffing, and a) if they can't buff either. a) I would consider a bug, b) could be by design - give teh elite profs something "special" (means something they could always do, but take it away from others so they can't anymore)

Per Tiaga in another post, there are no new flourishes for the exotics. We're not sure what that line meant in the patch notes.

I am not a dancer, but I think you guys should push for a 5-10% action / mind regen buff

It would be a huge boost for ent. and a huge help for all others.

The other thing is that I'm worried that this could kill cantinas - at least in NPC cities. With no BF to heal, there may be little reason for Entertainers to hang out in cantinas just as doctors have mostly abandoned the medical centers. I tend to think this will lead to entertainers, especially the veteran ones, grouping with friends and hanging out in their favorite player city cantina or roaming around doing inspiration buffing in camps or on-call because there may be little or no reason to go to the NPC cantina. Maybe only the newer players will go to NPC cantinas because they don't know where else to go, but they might not meet many other players or more experienced entertainers. The AFK situation has already pushed the game in this direction, but if you can do everything in a camp that you can do in a cantina, I think many players will forget about cantinas altogether.

It seems to me that this is the state the game is in right now. I go into an NPC Cantina and there is nothing but a handful of zombies who haven't gotten the word yet. Maybe 1 or 2 (at most 3 or 4) people wander in to get inspired or BF removed, but for the most part, the cantina is dead. I have been doing the Theater Manager quest witha new character and have had to pursue my audience in order to fulfil the promotion requirements. I go with a hunting group and drop a camp when there is any lull in the action. I have even dropped a camp and performed for a group that I was not a member of. I simply cannot find enough patrons in cantinas any more.

How will we make money?

The same way I've been making money as an entertainer since day one. Talk to people. Entertain people. I have made 100k-200k per night, regardless of my skill level, when I interact with people in the cantinas. Especially when I've headed out to Kashyyyk.

I make the most money at the Theed Cantina on both Gorath and Kettemoor. The Kettemoor folk, being more roleplay minded, tip REALLY REALLY WELL when you are ATK and simply greet them by name. So many people walk in and say "Who's ATK?" If you speak up, they'll drop some good creds in your lap.

I've made the same kinds of money as a Novice musician as I have as a Master Dacner. You can build up a clientele of folks who are intersted in some roleplay or just basic human contact. You can make people want to visit a cantina, because you are working *together* as entertainrs.

Example, my sweetie and I both made novice ents on Kettemoor. We grabbed some staffs and started dancing (calling ourselves "Chicks with Sticks"). We picked up other newbie dancers and started doing /bandflos. We were having so much fun, we didn't care if we were getting XP. People were amazed that came to the cantina and saw us working together! We had quite the large audience and people were telling their friends. Many had never seen dancers do /bandflo before! We were all doing the flows (on footloose no less at one point) and we had folks working on musican, stand on either side of us, making a bit of a U shape.

We had people come in and tip all the people in the two groups we had. That's up to 16 players! We sacrified our own XP for some good old fashioned fun. Which is clearly, something that many Ents forget to do.

All of that doesn't mean anything if you don't have players ot entertain. As its been said before mot many people come into the cantina or inspiration buffs. They come in to heal BF, no BF or BF healing no one to entertain. Which means no making money for those that use it to make money.

I love the props but its certainly not at the cost of being virtually useless.

But what I'm saying, is that WE made the draw. We had people sans BF or needing buffs, come hang out at the Mos E Cantina because we were *performing*. We had a crowd. And we did it repeatedly. It's been amazing on Kettemoor, because there is always people coming to hang in the cantinas.

We can expect a playerbase to change overnight. However, we *can* make an effort to try to make it work. Yah, content would be great. Yah, new buffs or added skills would be great. But still, how do you get people to *want* to come? Not *need* to come? By entertaining. Honestly, I'd rather have a cantina with 10 visitors interacting and having fun, than 20 people who are not happy to be there as it's cutting into their grind.

If you give people a welcoming environment, stay on a schedule...they will start coming.
If you give people a welcoming environment, stay on a schedule...they will start coming.
The keeping a schedule part I think was the most important thing there. If people know you are going to b performing at a certain time they will show up then. If that works then perhaps theaters will start filling up as well. People could have a show, charge for tickets, and have at it. If that works (musicians included) so that youcan watch/listen from the audience then great. If not we just got nerfed bad.

I don't know though. I must be one of the few because I actually like BF. It gave me a reason to stop the grind, take a breather and do something else, something that was usually more fun.

However if things continue as they are they might as well change how the entertainer professions are gotten at all, something akin to pilot, with little to no use of skill points.

I don't like or dislike it, as it's not the reason why people come to see *me*. I prefer to keep an open mind, because honestly, we have NO Idea of the impact of removing it from the game.

There have been so many things launched in this game, which sound one way on "paper" and then once it's implemented, the player base actually determines how something is used, liked/disliked or abused.

I'm staying positive, because I know that at least we're getting *something* and will continue to get more as time goes on. They can't give us all everything we want at once. It takes time. The fact that we're not shelved again, speaks a lot to me. I'm going to just ride the storm of negativity, as always and then play the game how *I* want to play the game.

I’m really excited about these changes and don’t see nerf at all. BF used to be the hook that brought customers in and now inspiration buffs are the hook. It’s a better hook because we are giving the customers something they want rather then taking away something that was forced on them to give us purpose. I want to thank Sony from the bottom of my heart for turning an eye to making the class fun and entertaining rather then integral to the civil war

Thank you! Someone who remembers we wanted this!

Thanks for making all of those lists and talking about props forever, Sultrina. I think you were a huge influence, at least I know you were on me.

No, "we" didn't want this. You and a couple of your friends wanted this. "We" asked for the removal of AFK. First, second, third and before anything else that hasn't already come to life in the last few patches.
