I did try that once. But, since I'm completely naive about weapons, I ended up slicing my palm open and that ruined the entire exotic plan for the evening. So I no longer cut off fleshwraps with a knife, sorry.

I use my teeth now.

Thus the real reason why Roho threatened to knock Javy's teeth in . . . . .

Anyway - I thought that it was Shianse who sliced your hand up that time . . . .

You take fleshwraps off with your..uhm....teeth, maybe?

Exploit? Bah...We do still fall. I actually started Path out with a blade in hand not knowing it would alter the animation. She is a "Dancer with a Blade". Ever watch a Master Fencer in combat? It is amazing animation.

We do "fall" too often. Sometimes I will dance unarmed but only if I want to use my falls in RP. When I am singing, it is not appropriate to fall in the middle of a tender lyric, totally messes up the flow so I hold my blade.

IMHO, a Master Dancer should only "fall" once in blue moon anyway. Actually, I wish we Musicians occasionally struck a "wrong note." Actually, in my heart of hearts, I wish there were some user skill that governed whether we fall or miss wrong notes. Some occasional interaction, like the new entertainer quests, that test our abilities in even a modest way.

By the way, I always hold an instrument while I dance, because I'm usually switching from music to dance. I certainly don't consider that exploiting. I consider it playing the game.

Of course that isn't 'exploiting'. Instruments in hand don't prevent falls, last I checked.

Actually, this whole 'exploit' argument is invalid because we DO still fall... it's just that for some reason holding a weapon keeps the animation from playing out, and we just continue to do the base dance. If you hold a weapon while you dance (as I do) watch yourself closely. Anytime you flourish but don't actually do the flourish animation(most noticeable when you're bandflourishing)... yep, you just fell.
And calling this an exploit to begin with is just silly.... I can only hope this post was made in jest.

thats exactly right. the fall still happens just not visually. So its not an exploit to hold a weapon, its a visual bug for the holding of a weapon to stop a visual animation.

Besides, I've fallen plenty of times while holding a weapon. It's not foolproof.

Yup..all the time. Because there are so many differences between what we see our avatars doing and what others see, I tend to use a second computer and account from time to time when working on routines. When holding a weapon, my avatar will appear to fall on the monitor of the first computer, however, does not appear to fall on the second computer. I've also noticed that she might fall on one flourish but the client of the second account won't show the fall until the next flourish. Missed flourishes seem to be a not-so-infrequent occurrance as well; ie: I call a /flo, I see her do the flo on the main computer but the client on the second computer does not show it.

I sure wish they'd come out and tell us how our code is "supposed" to work.
