... AND they took BE out of the game. Thanks SOE!

That really was a kick in the teeth IMO. BEs of anyone have been the most loyal and patient of all their customers. They have stuck it out through tons of bugs, inability to do half or more of their profession for months at a time, and all the other problems. Plus it was always a HARD profession to do (I tried it for a few skill boxes and gave up, it was so hard). And this is how people like Cindal are rewarded... the big middle finger right in the air from SOE. Nice.

If they've actually taken AFKing out of the game, I can only assume that buffs have been, or will be, nerfed. The combat-wombats that now make up 99% of the population of this game, will not tolerate having to find a real live entertainer for their XP buff, or any other buff, if it is considered useful or meaningful. So they're going to have to nerf it to the point where it's useless (a 1% buff or something sounds about right).

Personally I am not clear on why they have bothered to leave entertainers or crafters in the game at all. Those profs are being left in mostly "as they used to be" as far as I can tell, but the whole REST of the game has changed to make them even more irrelevant and unsupported than they already were.

So basically what SOE is doing is saying, "If you are dumb enough to want to play a non-combat class in this game, we'll take your money and let you do it, but don't expect us to bother supporting you at all."

Thanks, SOE.

Right back at ya.

Not sure as of yet...my mains guild is falling apart, the NGE control schemes are killing my wrists/hands.

It is taking everything in me to not scramble leveling my quad master ent into a CL 80 so that if things are as broken as they appear to be...I can at least have 2x9 choices in my professions... Only way I really see creating content for myself...

Bah...Being mostly unable to get onto TC, I have taken up playing my dancer more often then not and trying to cheer others up...its getting very draining.

I've cancelled my account, it expires November 19.

With Seakla a Grand Master Entertainer (she isn't currently but that's how I plan to leave her), and very little to tie me to any other server, and a total bitterness for SOE and what they have done to these professions and the game in general... there's just no point staying in the game.

I'll buy a DVD every month or something now, lol.

Thanks for all the good times.

I'm probably going to cancel too. But my account is up for renewal on 11/26. I could cancel now. But that will allow them to look at my cancellation and go, "C didn't even TRY the NGE stuff! See how narrow-minded?"

Oh no, they're not getting off that easily. I am going to wait till this goes in, give it a week or so, and THEN cancel. So it is quite clear that the NGE caused me to finally (after months of considering and threatening to myself that I was going to do it if one more straw broke the camel's back etc) actually hit 'cancel.' I know, it's just one account, but I want there to be no ambiguity, and no chance of convincing themselves that my cancellation was for anything other than their incompetence and my dis-satisfaction with the direction of this game.

I am leaving. My account has been cancelled and will be done on December 2nd.

I tried out the new system on TC. It very much strikes me as a console game. I see what little roleplay that's left in the game going down the tubes as a new generation of players takes up the game.

I hated the way I moved. I'm not a droid, but I sure moved like one. I don't care for the interface. I think the few quests I did were pretty lame. Those would probably get better as one progresses in levels, but the movement, interface, and the idea that RP will be very slim just completely turns me off to the NGE.

I started playing SWG just to play a dancer. My husband started up the game, and was watching a dancer one day. And I saw this pixelized dancing character say something and I was in shock. Since the day I created Nyre I knew I never would give up dancer. I'm abandoning my Jediness to stay in the profession I started in. I love Entertainers, I love the people you meet. Besides...who's gonna keep my guildies from grinding too much and going through burnout!

Nyre = Entertainer

Nari = Trader

*sniffle* goodbye my pink saber that I worked soooo hard for to only get 1 month before they take it away from me. *cry*

I am going I like your reasoning Ches but it makes me ill to think of paying them even one more penny. Wishing all the entertainers the best in this new game.

I agree with you. I'm on TC6 right now in Theed, all alone. Which is to be expected really since everyone else out there is wearing pajamas. /sigh

I don't mind grinding it alone, but ya know..it's the same old grind we have today.

Honestly, the more I play in this expansion, the more frustrated I get. My eyes are protesting, I can't remember where anything is. Learning the original game was not this hard. I'm not a video gamer, so this whole movement thing is just not intuitive for me.

I hate having a stressful day at work and then coming to my haven-from-stress and having it stress me out even more than my job.

That horrible, stupid desicion, my friend, was made by a new dev who had no prior developer experience, as far as his web blog implied. He seemed to be arrogant and rather ignorant, as he made this desicion without much thought about the players, it would seem. *sigh* The ignorant, once again, cause more harm than good when trying to help...

Of course, now I'm curious to find the blog.

Oh, I'm not paying them any more. My next billing date is 11/26. If I cancel now, or on 11/25, doesn't matter. So I will wait until after the 15th to cancel. Just so there can be no doubt as to why.
