It boggles my mind how many guys can say, "shake it" or "ooh yeah, work it!' and think they're original. My typical comment is something along those lines, pointing out that their cool comment isn't quite so cool, and that normally shakes their world enough to get them to go away.

I love the guys who send tells asking how much a lapdance or striptease would cost them. ("how much to take off ur skirt?") That's normally when I mention in /say that I will not take off any clothing for them, no matter how much they pay. It usually embarasses them enough to get them to go away... although the offender of the afore quoted comment said, before leaving:

"i guess u dont roleplay"

It was enough to get me laughing for quite a long time, and that was almost a week ago now.

Hey Lilin,

Ive seen you in action. There are a few hecklers in Moenia granted but you seem to get the point over quickly. Good job! BTW thanks for all your help

I was in the army far too long to let some 14yo heckler get the better of me. If they're obviously just on a mission to be bizarre, I just ignore em, but usually I can get snappy enough to back them off without even setting off the profanity filter. My fav is to lament that my exotic leotard has no pockets, put on my Twi'lek Grand headdress and ask them to guess where I have to carry it... Usually, they realize they're in over their heads and shut up to the laughter of my regular patrons.

I've only really had one person be particularly crude, asking me how much for a lapdance etc... so I responded "I dunno, you got a house? get the deed ready" and then keep upping the ante until they get bored. Beyond that, the only ones that bug me are the guys who come in and tellme that they would never watch or tip me because I am wearing an exotic leotard. The leotards and fleshwraps are a dime a dozen - girls who wear them and loop macros get low tips, and I, whether I am wearing my ballgown or my leotard make it a personal point to try and make everyone coming into the Moenia's Cantina feel like they are walking into their own personal Cheers, and THAT's what gets me my tips, not my clothing. Besides which,if you're watching any other more "modestly" dressed dancer, I'm still getting my share of the group points, so bug off you reality-challenged puritan.

Hey Sinda,

I'm a musician by trade, but I just finished Dance 4 to get Ceremonial and the mando, so I spent some time in the cantina as a male dancer. I was pleasantly surprised that I got almost no heckling. I get more when I play music. Go figure.

As other posters have said, I kind of enjoy dealing with hecklers. When they mouth off in the cantina, they're on our turf. They generally have a weak command of emotes. They know maybe one other person in the room. I can run circles around them with emotes, enlist bandmates to mock them, and eventually make them back down. I've had only one case where I had to resort to /ignore, as did the rest of my band. The heckler then stood by the door and, for all we knew, just stood there. Then he went away.

Then again, I don't get the sexual attention that some female dancers get. But it sounds like Sinda has evolved some good lines for dealing with that. I /flirted with Sinda once, in fact, and I still have bruised shins to show for it.

Well, I've decided that I'm of two opinions on this.. first, I do think that people who do such are jerks, but it is also a great opportunity for some RP and fun that's a bit out of the ordinary, depending on the environment in your Cantina.

On nearly every instance of people heckling or acting jerks in our cantina, we (the entertainers who dance there as 'home') are very vocal about it.. heh. I am more than others, but that's part of who I am. =) At any rate, generally, this brings about interaction and involvement from other customers in the cantina, and can make for a bit of drama and fun that breaks things up a bit.

If it's a consistent problem, I'd change cantinas, but in moderation, it can be good.

I've also started training in unarmed combat so I can try to beat up the jerks myself, instead of waiting for other patrons to defend me by offering duels, so that will be fun too =)

Just remember, that in the end, you control when and where you perform. If a single person is an issue, and you're having problems resolving it, don't perform for them, and try and get the rest of the group to do the same. Make vocal statements as to WHY you're not performing, and then ignore anything else the person has to say. Involve the other patrons, as I discussed above. If none of that works for you, or is appealing, consider another cantina if it's a constant issue, or seek out a private cantina where the person or people can be banned from entering.

I really feel bad for the females playing the game as dancers. I never really paid much attention to what went on inside the cantina until I created an entertainer alt for fun, and I've seen more stupid **edit** in there in the last week than in the rest of the game over the last month

- saw a guy go into /prone position and crawl around for a LONG time, pretending he was looking under the dancers' skirts
- saw a guy hassle a dancer for 5 mins, telling her the various places he'd kiss her. she got mad and challenged him to a duel, killed him, and he came back 5 minutes later and spammed the chat demanding she pay him 1k for cloning
- demands for dancers to follow guys back home to "service them"

a lot of good people in there too, role playing regulars and what not, but the kids running around wearing their libido for a badge are annoying and disrespectful as hell
