Sorry for 3 posts at once just got back and there is a lot of replies

Basicly, ive been playing SWG for 15 months or more now, i began as a dancer on my first character. I got master dancer before i even knew how to macro flourishes together let alone loop them, after the holocron era hit i ended up dropping dancer, because i couldnt play in the cantina's how they currently are. I loved dancer, and still do, but i just couldnt come to terms with how the afk frenzy ruined my favourite proffession. I tried multiple proffessions, none of them drew me in as dancing did, and allways i surrendered and went back to dancer, and allways getting bored of dancer (playing as much as i did it was hard to stay dancing for that many hours a day when all my friends had vanished and/or changed proffession) and again trying another proffession.

I mastered dancer a total of 6 times before i got a second accnt. None of it was afk.

When i got my second accnt it was around the same time a good friend of mine, a tailor had quit, so i decided to take up tailor as previously i didnt want to compete with her. Obviously tailor was something that i stuck with, as was Dancer.

So basicly12 or so months later, ive stuck with both, and played both as its the only way i have been able to come to terms with the afk cantina's When its all too quiet, i turn my head 20 degree's to my other monitor, and start making some more clothes. Without this escape/distraction i dont think i could stick with Dancer as long as i have. And im very sorry to say that.

There are regular groups of live entertainers that we've got together on my server, and this generally works fairly well, but maybe i just play a little too much so that im often in offpeak times

For what its worth Mauve I don't think you were afk dancing or anything like that.

I say this only because it sounds like you have both computers set up next to one another, and when there wasn't any talking or entertaining to be done you went and did a couple of vendor thingies (always quick to notice what was going on with your entertainer).

I can understand what Saltee is saying, but I figure thats like me taking my eyes off the computer to watch a show I like on television, or look at a homework problem once in a while (glancingaway for a minute or two at a time). Would I be considered afk then, even though thats my only character running and I am physically in my chair, at my desk?

I don't thinkit would...just as I don't think you should think of yourself as afk.

****side note**** this is not to say that someone running two accounts who occasionally glances at the other about every ten minutes isn't afk. I think when there is extended period of time not paying attention to your character or what they are doing then that is afk (just don't want any bots to come running in here and say that they check on things about twice an hour so they aren't afk ). Whenever there is an extended period of unattended play, whether you have one or two or ten characters running, you are afking and shouldn't be performing. Again, I don't think this sounds at all like what Mauve was doing....but thats just me.
