I've not been asked for buffs at all.. Tho, I have sought out the Musician buff when ever I play. (as I am not a Master yet)

that could be a re-teaching thing though. I've run across some who think they must find a master musician to get their buff and my 0044 skill jips them. They have to know that the same exact strength of buff is applied reguardless of level. Just time is different and in my case an outfit with skill enhancement puts me very close to master level time.

It was a big deal to find a master in the mind buff days, I think this mentality carried over. The time doesn't seem to big a deal. Before i dug out my old enhancer suit (and sometimes cuz I'm too lazy to change outfits for someone)I told people that I could buff around 2 hours and 35 min and they're response was "way cool I don't plan to be crafting for 2 hour straight anyway". not "OMG I NEED 3 HOURS!!!"

I'm going to go dance and play music tonight in Theed and see how things are. From what I've heard, it's not how I thought it was going to be.

My apologies to everyone for having to deal with me, my opinions, and anything else I missed. And if things are like how I've heard and been reading about on the forums, I've been a total and complete ass about the whole thing.

I know quite a few combat types that are grinding... so the general buff is still the most popular.

The WS and AS and SW buffs were so popular that I used my token respec to take up the augment tree of music.

After that, chef and tailor buffs are popular.

Been told that the affect isn't all that much, but the master crafters still come for the buffs saying every bit helps!

Also, when I see a non-combat prof tag walk in, I don't wait for him/her to ask for a buff. I IMMEDIATELY send a tell asking if they'd like a specific buff. Usually, they respond w/ a YES and tell me what they want.

Happy dancing /wave

Anyway...I've not received too many buff requests on Bria, but I play at off peak times almost esclusively now. the ones I have given have been of the Weaponsmith and Chef variety. Overall it's not a bad deal so far, but there are alot of people just respecing alts. That is unforutnately what happens when folks can do the Jedi stuff and unlock a second character without issue. Also, like most MMOs the hardcore will have multiple accounts anyway. I know I had five EQ accounts at one point a couple years back. We can't control it either...I'd like to see that we get some Entertainer PvE games to go into the cantinas to augment the buffing aspect of things for our entertainment. I doubt it will happen as that would require the expenditure of resources on us and we don't make money for SOE...so it's not likely to happen.

So last night, I log in kinda late and decided to hit Theed and see how things are going. I get there and the place was dead. I figured why not, it's the only cantina I really perform in. As it turns out, there was a WS looking for a musician for the buff. I started playing, she started listening, and I gave her a buff. Pretty painless, except for the fact I had to use /inspire <name> since all I had for an insturment on me was a nala.

I gave 4 music buffs the whole night and 1 ID session. No dance buffs, just music. Overall, it's not all that bad. At least players were asking for buffs rather than demanding.

I've been doing pretty well. Of course, I lose count of how many general buffs I give, but I have given enough music buffs and a few dancer ones. (WS is the favourite, but since they are mostly Jedi trying to better their light-sabers, I doubt there will be many repeats on that.)

I buffed a few WS's, (Real WS's, not Jedi,) a few chefs, a few dancers, a few artisans, a shipwright, an armoursmith, and some others. A few even add me to their friends list. (YAY! ATK ents that are findable FTW!) I am often in Bestine, Bria, which has it's ups and downs, and get tells in space. (If I am just randomly blowing off steam, I will land.) Mostly, though, it is still the combatants that ask me to land or where I am dancing. (And those I really like know my alt, and will ask if I can log Nommi in to buff them. Funny, as they are in the cantina and there are 3 AFKs there, and they are willing to ask me to log Nommi in. Guess being alive has it's advantages. *grin*)

I donotice that crafters are generally more civil. Tips are as varied as always. But some combatants walk in, don't respond, get buff, and leave. Half of that actually will tip, but never say anything until I send them a thank you /tell. (Why they don't talk before hand is something I stopped trying to figure out.) Most crafters will at least say hi, even if they need nothing but the general. But, I am used to that by now. Not much different for me then it was with BF.

Still seeing the same amount of people coming in and staying far longer then it takes to buff them for 3-1/2 hours. I doubt that will change. Some people really love coming in and chatting with a nutball like me. (Go figure.) As long as they exist, I am happy. I don't need mechanics to make me a nut. I took care of that loooooong ago. Some people like my patented Asil Rapid-Fire Pillow Gun. (I know I do, which is why I carry one always.)

P.S. Things are about the same for Anom on Corbantis. She's more of a loner, though, so cut all of Nommi's experiences in half.

P.P.S. In no way of my mentioning Jedido I mean to insinuate that I dis-like them. Just that I doubt they will be crafting a LS every day, and therefor won't be repeat customers. *grin*

*Goes back to having cheese and coff33b33r* (Okay, it is T34b33r for me, but I like coff33 as well.) *Looses IQ point for using 3 intead of E.*

Tailors have no interest, merchants well I did buff rocket with merchant but it was more wooo look what we can do, no one has asked for ID buff either.

I don't know about the tailor and ID buff, but the merchant buff is utterly useless to anyone who is master merchant... the +20 hiring didn't add any new species to the "hiring" list (as far asIcan remember)andthere is no need for experience at master merchant. I was hoping to see some new options or something, but it's only useseems to be forsomeone who isn't master merchant yet.

The crafters who do ask for a buff arealways friendly and tip exceedingly well. But it's pretty sparse. I've been trying to stay as visible as possible but there are other things I enjoy doing and training people to understand that finding an empty cantina does not equal no entertainer on the entire server is a long tough journey that givens me a headache. Right now on my server forums there's a wonderful post moaning about the lack of an afk buff bot.... Yeah I nearly blew a gasket. But did get a chuckle about some dork declaring that the afk macro was nearly figured out and just waiting to hear what people would pay. Some people clearly can't tell the difference between text that says 10% inspiration and a specific buff message....

Now if I could just get other entertainers to stop with the random invite window without so much as a /wave... They must be former mindbuff junkies or something. I'm thinking of responding with a /duel message and seeing if they go for it.
