Battle fatigue is not coming back. I've made it abundantly clear to the devs over the past couple of months that many entertainers would like BF reinstated. But the answer is, "No.". The reason I have been given is that BF does not fit in with their plan.

Good to see that they are as communicative with our noble leader as they are with us... Of course it would be nice if they could impart at least a hint or two as to the shape of their 'plan'. As it stands it seems their plan is either (a) to merge the mechanics of all of their concerns into one large homogonistic behemoth of tedium or (b) they have no plan, and it was merely a short sighted attempt at preventing people who complained of not being able to play on underpopulated servers from leaving.

Who knows... Maybe a redname will cast some light, but if they don't (and from you're saying they won't) at least they can't stop us talking about it ... Well unless they delete the thread

Seems they chose the simplest one, that affected the most people. Of the 50 people that are forced (that word has nasty connotations, but anyway) to come to the cantina, only 3 will be annoying kiddies. The restwill add to thevibrant feel of that cantinaand enhance the experience for everyone... The baby kind of went flying with the bathwater here I think

Weren't "Force Healers" also charged with healing BF?

Did they not get beaten on with "JFreedman's stick" in the "carrot and stick approach?"

If so, then I think it is a jedi issue too.

I agree BF should be brought back... it actually played a role in the game, ie slowing players down making them weaker, imagine this your in iraq fighting and fighting none stop all day for say 2 weeks, im sure you'd feel fatigued... being able to grind and grind all day and have no effects brought upon your character is abit daft imo..

i say bring back BF

As a Master Healer I would love for Battle Fatigue to come back... only IF:

1)They increased the amount of Battle Fatigue gained during a fight.

2) Musicians/Dancers/Entertainers were given the ability to choose whose BF they healed as a means for them to make some credits.

It is sad that the devs took out one of the game mechanics which caused interaction between combat and non-combat professions. Probably why my doctor/musician account is gone, and several of my other friends with entertainer accounts have canceled.

well, keep in mind that out of those 50 people, at least 40 of them will also be the "run in, get heal, run out" kind. they only contribute to the traffic of the cantina, and I really don't mind either way if they're there or not.

I really do believe that the devs didn't remove BF to make the combatants' life easier. we've made a really big deal out of afk people, and BF was something that can be healed while afk. it would've been great if they can make healing an active process instead of passive, but I doubt that would go well with the combatants

I firmly believe BF should have been left in the game. However, I also firmly believe the CU was the worst thing that ever happened to SWG.

I also don't think it will ever come back, because the current devs do not understand why it was put into the game in the first place by the (now gone) original designers.

I just want to know why they took BF away in the first place. What good did it do? The only difference I noticed is that the cantinasare always empty because combat players don't really have a reason to come to the cantinas anymore. It's not like they really use the new inspiration buffs...

I think alot of grinders pick up the 10% combat bonus buff from some AFK bot in the mining outpost. But if you're not grinding experience or faction, you have no need for the buff.

If they really had a problem with BF being something htat could be done AFK, they would have made all buffs active instead of leaving the general combat buff--the most common one from my experience--passive. I see it all as placating combat people. They don't want the combat people to have to complain about fining entertainers. But, just to make sure they still had to find and utilize convenient AFK bots, they removed self buffing.

Sorry, I'm bitter from other things right now.

But I generally like the things SOE does. I was with them on CU. But in the last few months, it's like they're entertainer-hating. But, at least they're paying attention to us.

Yep my thoughts almost exactly. They didn't remove BF to fix AFK play otherwise they would not have replaced it with AFK general buffs. I honestly don't think this development team has a plan. All the promised road maps and plan documents they offered after the big conference last year disappeared and instead we got EQ2 level functionality forced onto the SWG skill tree approach. Square peg meet round hole. The current development team simply reacts to the loudest complaints while skinning EQ dungeons in Star Wars and selling it as new content.

While I agree that the need tp heal bf bought in customers, it also gave us the healing skill tree, which was one I always had trouble earning. Why? Because most of the same customers preferred to go to buffbots to get healed and free buffs. So in all reality it doesn't really matter much. What we want is interaction, not just bodies. What we need is a way to provide it. I still say we need to be able to give dance lessons! Then maybe it will draw more people in who actually like to interact.
