Dancer Archive
Thread: Cantina Events Need suggestions.
During last week's party, we had a couple of humans (and later wookiees) go off in the back and play some dice. They wagered and then rolled the die and saw who got closer. It was really cool cuz it was unplanned, and they just did the cantina thing. Ordered up a few drinks and started gambling.
That is pretty cool. I have created these dice but don't understand how they work. I would gladly put them on every table in my cantina if I knew how they worked.
On a different note: Last night I put on a comedy/music night. I stocked the vendor with fireworks and put decorated the cantina with three different types of candles (30 candles in all). It was great turnout. Not as good as my opening night, but people still came.
The comedy got the audience more involved in the show. Then the band would play and people in the audience were doing /dance. It was great. We then did an intermission and everyone bought fireworks and we went out and had a firework show. I think that was the best part of the night. Everyone was participating...
Get a few people with a cube or dice, get in a group, and start rolling. Group system messages of their roll results should pop up.

Matches would be perhaps 20 questions, and they would work like this: call it quiz bowl. There are two teams of five (or fewer), and a match can consist of however many questions you want. On each question, it's given a sentence at a time in spatial chat, and the first person on either team to attempt the answer types BUZZ in spatial (macros encouraged.) and then is allowed to answer. If they're correct, their team gets first crack at the bonus question (which I'll show below). If not, the other team has a chance to answer (and the team that got it incorrect is "locked out" from buzzing.)
For instance (given one sentence at a time):
(easy) Its stated purpose was as a planetary ore extractor, designed to break apart dead planetary masses and enable the harvesting of minerals contained within the core. Designed by Bevel Lemelisk, a prototype was first built at the Maw Installation, an Imperial space research facility surrounded by four black holes near the Imperial prison of Kessel. For ten points, identify the subject of Ben Kenobi's "It's not a moon, it's a space station" destroyed at the Battle of Yavin.
Answer: The _Death Star_
(hard) Originally chartered under the Old Republic, its designs were adapted to serve many civilian and quasi-military agencies under the aegis of the government, and Dreadnaughts of its manufacture were the mainstay of the legendary Katana fleet. Its later manufactures have turned to more military designs under the New Order, and now produces its share of "eyeballs," "squints," and "dupes." For ten points, name the company chartered as Republic Seniar, manufacturer of the infamous TIE series of starfighters.
Answer: _Seniar Fleet Systems_ (accept _Seniar_ prior to the last sentence.)
A bonus would look like this:
Given a Star Wars personality, give their planet of origin.
1. Wedge Antilles
2. Mon Mothma
3. Han Solo
4. Darth Vader
Answers:
1. _Corellia_
2. _Chandrila_
3. _Corellia_
4. _Tatooine_
The answers would be read by one member of the team selected as the captain, and the team would have the opportunity to confer in group chat about the answers for a set period of time - 30 seconds or so.
Feedback? Comments? Too complicated? Not enough interest?
This could be cool, I wonder what everyone thinks.
