I never expect tips when I buff, this way I'm plesantly surprised when I do get a tip.

I always ask people totip me what they feel the buff is worth and usually get between2-10k.

I don't ask fortips from city members or friendsbecause we have a barter system.

Looking from some of the player's viewpoints, they pay 10k for a set of 6 high qualitydoctor's buffs for 3.5 hours. But they only get one buff from a dancer and have to go to a musician if they want the 2secondary buffs. Our buff lasts only2 hours unless you're with them andhave donean under-buff.

I stopped worrying about being stiffed a long time ago or I'd have ulcers by now.

Most dancers have asecondary profession where they can make a dependable income. (This isn't the best systembecause it makes dancers less available and encourages buff vendors).

So true, every word. I tried dancer before I gave up the grind and it drove me crazy the way some people behaved. A lot of people acted as if it should be a free service to get a buff. As a doc as well I can tell you it isn't a lot better. I'm not one to sit outside the starport and buff, but you wouldn't believe tells I get from people. "I've died in the (pick you cave or POI) come and rez me." or "Heal my disease!" No asking just an instant demand. On the rare occasions I've done it trust me, no one offered to pay a dime for these little services. I'm not searchable anymore, and I don't keep the Doc. title up. That isn't really an option for dancers though. The best tips I ever got as a dancer were hiring my services to groups going to Dath or Endor. They pay up front, for a specified amount of time. The downside of that are the creeps that come in, get their healing, and leave without so much as a thank you while your doing your job for a guild or group.

I find that this attitude is less prevelant in the less populated areas. On Dathomir, for example, I've had good tiping experinces with most folks. One of my running theories of life though is: There is always one more jerk in the world. It is an unfortunate constant that can usually be counted upon. The flipside is, there is usually one more nice person as well.

Shailas, I have a similar philosophy, for every jerk there are 10 nice people.

I became a master before buffing, and with all this talk about buff tipping, I wonder how pre-masters are making their money now. Are people still tipping for bf healing? I remember the average tip for bf healing was 500-1k cr. Is it still the same?

I usually get tips between 2k and 25k, some times even more. so I can't say I really can relate to the entertainers that complain about not getting tipped enough to survive on.

The key is to keep talking with the people, let them feel you're no bot dancing, and be witty.. whenever I chat on other channels I rarely get a tip but when chatting is slow and I'm back in full I sometimes get 3 great tips in a row in under 5 seconds, totalling 20 - 50 k

don't stand there like a wallflower but mingle! If someone chats with me while buffing I am gratefull for the interruption of the tediousness of zombie-filled bars, and that's worth money to ME! but I don't go as far as tipping them hehe

It may not be thé perfect solution but I strongly feel that an all-non-combat oriented character is way too vulnerable to the whimsies of the public! Find a fun group of people (not hard when you're entertainer) , pay the price for a combat profession and kick some buttski! I also feel it's a great way to deal with the stress.. didn't think you got treated fair ? take it out on a hapless monster that happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time! make money while doing it and forget your worries, just get involved in something éntirely different!
