Wow! Lots of ideas here that are great! And some that are, well arent real Star Warsey. Always keep in the back of the head that this is Star Wars. The planets they have given us to explore dont have the 'flash' saylike the Coruscant's bars. Pom-poms? Stage poles? Dancer cages? They are strong towards the immersion into the Star Wars era as everyone knows.Alot of these things just dont fit. Keep up the neverending requests but dont hold your breath!

I'd sooo love pom poms and the ability to have chants, sounds like a great idea to me! It'd be good if the chants could also give bonuses perhaps to defense or something to those listening...

I also think dancers and musicians should both be able to buff all 3 mind stats, as I think they are under-valued as a profession due to their buffing limitations. Docs can buff all 3 stats of health and action, you don't have to go to multiple people for a HA buff, so either entertainer should be able to do the full set of mind buffs. What does everyone else think of this?

Sounds great! Lots of good ideas.

I do not frequent these boards a lot, so this may have been brought up before: Can we PLEASE get proper flourishes for the high level dances? Exotic only has proper flo 1+2 (3 is a copy of 2, 4-8 are identical and copied from a low level dance and totally out of place with Exotic). Lyrical only has proper flos 1-4 (5-8 are copied from Popular and they just do not go with Lyrical). More real flos = more variety = more fun!

Would be really neat to get a Tiara...

I sooo agree with Inkanissen! I take pride in my dances, but it is difficult with so little choice. I still have people comment, wow a dancer can do that! but I want to challenge myself, not just others...

A lot of good ideas listed out here.. I wanted to take some time to think before posting my opinions. More as a prelude to future progress on this list - yes, I noted Panthu's assurance that this is not any kind of 'official list to submit to the devs' thing yet, so this is not a panic post But I did want to include my ideas for where to go from here for when the day comes that we'll want to formalize these concepts into tangible requests. I think that if we're keeping a few things in mind as we develop ideas, refining them into final requests will go much more smoothly.

I would love to have more tools, props, flourishes and techniques available to enable dancers to put on better, more creative shows. But Iwould also likesee a Star Wars flavorwith myStar Wars game. Some of the things listed just don't seem right for theSW universe to me... I'm having a bit of trouble envisioning pom-pomsand cheerleadersin the motif, for example... just my 2.5 credits on this one.

I think the accumulated list thusfaris wonderful as a brainstorming list based on real-world dance and performance, but I would like to see a bit of thought put in as to how some of these ideas would be represented within the contexts of the universe at some point before we get to the more "official suggestions" stage. I think that ideas like these really need a two-step process; finding examples from the real world that we are familiar with to stir up strong concepts, but then need to be followed up with how those ideas can be 'converted' into the Star Wars flavor so that they work within the contexts. In my mind, phase 1 is off to a fantastic start, but I would still like to see a phase 2 to rein the concepts back into a complimentarystyle in the end.

SWG for me is not just a dance simulation, but also a Star Wars game - and I wouldn't want to make suggestions to the devs for things that might feel so out of place in the theme that they might take away from that color and feel if we get them, and I hope I'm not alone in this opinion.By helping out up front with conceptual continuity, I think we can have both - the inclusion of much needed props, tools and controls to enrich our profession, as well as strengtheningthe roles of dancersin the Star Wars universe.

I think having a Part 2 forStar Warsy ideas would make a lot of people happy (including the Devs and LA)... my personal problem with Star Wars Dancer ideas is lack of exposure. Other than the dancers in KOTOR, I only know what I've readabout the actress who played Oola (she's a pretty cool dancer) and the original concept for that scene at the palace. I've been meaning to link to that, I'll do that today.

Now, I've heard that there are lots of dance references in the books. That Mara Jade did a Dancer/Spy stint, but I don't know when that happened (was it during this time period? It would have to be before the Luke hook up, so yes?). If you have any useful links or references, go ahead and start pointing us down the right path! I'd love for us to be able to have as many new tools as we can and be able to enhance immersion even more.

Sorry had to be said, but if you think about it, they could very easily rename Dancer- Exotic Dancer

Doesn't 'Dancer' encompass both 'Dancer' and 'Exotic Dancer'?

Is this like the time I said something about Han in Carbonite and panicked everyone in the channel because it hasn't happened yet?

*sigh* I do so try to be good... here's a link to Mara Jade's bio if you wanna read it (it doesn't say anything about dance). I started using this site a few months ago to avoid Cantina faux pas.

I agree with Deila that fundamentally I like many of the ideas on the list... but we have to remember that this is a Star Wars Role Playing Game and as such I am looking for things that add to the IMMERSION, not take away from it.
