Thread: This probably isn't the right place to ask this.....

We talked about several locations last night. I suggested the Vreni Island theater, but without knowing what the weather is going to be like, we run the risk of getting married in the rain.I thought about the Lake Retreat and Dee'ja Peak Falls as possible locations as well as the the palace in Theed. There is a turret at the back of the palace that over looks the falls. She wants to check out a few places before we decide on a final location and date.

She recalled seeing a vendor that had wedding bands in it at one time but can't remember where. I know which one she is talking about, I've seen it as well, and can't remember myself. If we can't find it again, I'll have to try to find a tailor to make a pair of rings for us.

Since I left music many months ago, I've kinda missed the entertainer scene. I leveled up through almost halfway through musician all ATK before dropping it for pikeman/artisan (dropped artisan for medic and doctor). I went over to another server (spend more time there than on my main) to create an entertainer and do what I have missed doing. Both are ardant supporters of ATK entertainers, not using buffbots/macrotainers for buffs or healing. If I can't find a live entertainer, I go without buffs and wait till another time to get healed.

I really care about the current issues of entertainers and will always rise to the fight for our causes. Even though I haven't met any of you, I came here to the dancer forum to ask these because I hold each of you in the highest respect and honor for what you do.

We've talked over a few things and here's hat we've decided:

We are going to hold the wedding at the Lake Retreat on Naboo down by the water. We are going to write and exchange custom vows along with custom made rings. We also decided not to hold a reception afterwards, since neither of us wanted to make this a huge wedding. The ceremony will be short and simple... exchange vows and rings and have us pronounced as husband and wife. We are both excited and nervous about getting married, lol. As for the honeymoon... well, that's one of the last few details we need to plan along with the date.

I'll post more when things get finalized.

You trade rings during the proposal, it's automatic. You select the ring you want her to have, and propose, when she accepts the rings swap. That being said she needs to make sure she only has one ring in her inventory. If she has any other rings tell her to take them off and put them in the bank or something, the game has a nasty habit of chosing a random ring in the proposee's inventory to swap, and generally it picks the one you don't want it to

I agree on personalized rings - just remember that you swap rings. On Wanderhome our tailor friend made us rings. I was confused at first because mine was named Tash's (My WH char is named Tash), but after we proposed unity I was wearing the ring with his name and he was wearing the ring with mine - very sweet.

I highly recommend getting personalized rings made special for you both from a tailor. That's what Roho and I did and once in a while I just take a peek at the engraving - it's beautiful. Ours say identical things (Kirah and Roho in Perfect Harmony), but you might consider getting your rings made and engraved separately so you can surprise each other when you exchange them (there is a character limit).

One more thing - the person who "proposes" goes down on one knee, so keep that in mind if that distinction matters to either of you.

And congratulations! Roho and I have been married ingame for just over a year and a month. Best of luck - if you are both good ingame friends you will make a terrific ingame couple!

What exactly is the character limit? I have a few really good ideas about what to have engraved (I can't post them in case she comes in the thread), but want to keep it in the character limit. I did find a tailor who would make the rings for us, she just needs us to e-mail her with our requests. I'm dying to see how beautiful she's going to look in her wedding dress, I asked her to keep it a secret until the wedding. I'm getting the butterflies right now just thinking about her in her dress and our impending wedding, lol. /blush

The night I asked her to marry me, I dropped to one knee (and in all nervousness in group chat) asked her to marry me. We have known each other since November and have been really great ingame friends, relying on each other in combat as well as non-combat. We talk about everything and have become quite close friends. I couldn't see spending the rest of my toons' life without her.

I'm still working on my vows (got some time to work on them till we choose a solid date), hoping to surprise her with them. I still think this has been the hardest thing I have ever done, I just hope I don't pass out or faint at the wedding, lol!

The character limit is the same as any crafted item in the game. I'm not IG right now, so I can't tell you exact numbers, but if you have any crafting skills (like scout, or novice artisan) just make any old item and try to fit your saying on it.

You could also experiment with using text on different lines if your inscription is very long. You would, in that case, copy and paste from notepad to get line breaks (you would keymap "copy" and "paste" functions - please ask if you want more details on that.)

Hopefully this helps. I'm at work so I can't do much from here to help... and tonight I'm busy with dinner and whatnot

I couldn't tell you the character limit right now either, but your tailor should be able to.

Another suggestion - Roho crafted specially named slitherhorns as a party favor to our quests. I thought I had saved one but I can't find it anywhere, so I don't recall exactly what they said. I believe they had our names and the date on them. Anything you or your betrothed can craft or can have crafted at a reasonable price would make a nice little gift for your guests to remember your special day.

And you might want to reconsider that reception decision . . . expecially if you have a lot of entertainers as guests. We do like our parties!

I've done a lot of rings in my time, and here's what I have to say...

Party Foul #1:

Smacktard: "I don't know what the engraving should say. You make a lot of rings. You pick something nice."

NO! NO! NO! Bad smacktard! F minus. Dump him, future Mrs. Smacktard.

First of all, I'm a tailor, not a mushy wedding planner! All I do is correct for spelling (and by the way, best to E-MAIL the engraving to your tailor).

And most importantly - uh, you're getting married, you know your future spouse, and I don't. Care enough to write something good. Stoopid. And a loser. Big loser. Guys take note: don't do this. Come up with your own dang saying. Don't let your buddy do it (I <3 b33r) - just spend the time that you're bored at work one day pondering. Yes, pondering. She deserves pondering. Ponder, dangit.

What I usually do is come up with some common suggestions (like "X and Y, together forever" or "from X, to Y, united in love"). I'll usually have the bride and groom e-mail me the inscriptions separately (along with color) and will do separate deliveries so it's a surprise.

Party Foul #2:

Smacktard: "I need the rings today!"

What does this say about Smacktard? Sounds like someone didn't plan ahead. Which means he didn't care enough to plan the very best - which means he is lame. Lame lame lame. And a loser. Okay there are some exceptions to this rule. But not many. Loser. Guys take note. To repeat: loser.

Party Foul #3: (I've actually witnessed this)

Smacktard: "Will u mry me?"

Smacktina: "Omg, yes! I love u!"

Smacktard: "I love u to!"

In this case it was a match made in heaven (/rolleyes) but in general do not do this. Come on, wakey wakey guys, are you paying attention? Do not, under any circumstances use 1337 in proposals. Ever. I mean it. Don't make me come over there.

Congratulation Devil_Tiger

I am not sure if you found a tailor or not yet, but if you still need one on Radiant, I would be glad to help you - or recommend others on Radiant. Contact Hellen in game, and maybe I can help you out. Or at least offer my congratualtions in-game

We have a date set, March 17th! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. We talked about the whole thing last night and we came up with a very nice ceremony.

We are going to exchange vows and rings at a simple but elegant ceremony at the Lake Retreat on Naboo. We are going to try to make it a sunset ceremony, the sight was incredible when we visited the retreat and thought that would be beautiful. Neither of us really want to do a reception, but we send our thanks to Charisma for her offer . My thanks to Hellen for all her help and advice on the rings and I can't wait to see how beautiful the ring will be . I also want to thank Hellen for suggesting to macro the vows, I know I'm going to be too nervous to type correctly on the wedding day. As for our honeymoon, we haven't decided 100% on what we want to do but right now we are thinking of a trip in space to Endor if she gets JTL sometime soon. Otherwise, I think we may go to Deeja Peak or Bela Vistal.

I also want to thank the entire dancer/musician/entertainer communities for your words of wisdom and advice. May fortune and good times bless you all!
