Thread: Ok now that we have that out of the way!

Even though I completely agree on this point, I don't think it's possible to remove the /join command.
As far as I can tell, every single click, keystroke and button press has an associated / command.
That's true, but not all of them are made accessable to the players. For instance, there are no slash commands that allow you to accept an Image Design change ordestory a camp. There are several others slash commands I've seen that have been disabled from player use. Seems fairly simple to me to do the same with this one.

I wouldn't say that those commands don't exist. It is possible of course, but I think it's just because they haven't been found yet. ![]()
But your point is very valid. There are commands that are only for CSRs for instance, essentially locking out their use to only those types of players. If that is done then the 'buff-bot' phenomemon may be reduced or even eliminated because of it.
Would we ever know such bliss?? ![]()
There are a dozen web sites that list every coded slash command in the game. These are very easily discovered using a sniffer program to reverse-engineer the client software (which I'm pretty sure is against the EULA, but it's done). There are no other undiscovered commands. Many of the commands that have been discovered are restricted from player use. Many of these did not origianlly start out being restricted, but became so after the need was discovered.
personally i find it really annoying having to click "yes or no" on things. personally i can type /join faster than i can click on the box that asks "would you like to join the group Yes, or No" no matter what i am doing with a computer i tend to use the keyboard commands, and the mouse both, where many people refrain from using the keyboard for uses other than typing, or playing games. and the / commands in the game are the same, it's just a way arround having to use the mouse for everything. i agree the /join command can be abused by putting it into a macro for being afk, but people abusing things in a game are inevitable.

Oh, I totally understand what you mean. I've seen these lists myself.
I just find it hard to believe that the Accept and Refuse buttons for getting IDed aren't there if every other button press and clicky is. I mean, everything from cycling through targets to opening a pack to banning someone from a building can be / commanded.
Maybe the 'Yes/No' type commands just aren't listed.
Anyway, we still agree on what needs to be done, and that's the point of this thread anyway ![]()
