Nightrunner - here is the original poll that Panthu did on this topic, for reference.
BF Ranger/Scout camps
Lots of good discussion on this. I hope some day we can see it as a reality.

Except... does anyone else here see the next generation of bots in this?
Park your high tech field base camp outside the Geo Caves, /startdance and welcome back, spam city. "Heals and tips appreciated"
Not to be sadistic or anything, but I guess we'd have to hope and pray the HTFB aggro barrier would remain bugged. And that enhanced kwi's think exotic leotards look an awful lot like toothfloss.

Bah!
Actually the current word is that camps will never repel creatures - too much griefing potential supposedly. So no worries there - for now.

why not be able to heal BF in a x/x/x/4 scout camp. SL's would LOVE this ability as well. Common' rangers we both fight for most of the same goals

OTOH, the camp times out after a certain period of time, so, if it was implemented in such a way as the Ranger and / or the Dancer had to access a terminal, register location and this was not accessible with a / command, no problem.
Well, one way would be for both the ranger-bot and the dancer-bot owners to hang about at their keyboard, waiting till the camp puffed out, then do the reset, over and over, every 20 - 30 minutes. At least you'd be tying up two afk'ers
An actual ranger or dancer wouldn't be hanging around that long as they'd be in demand elsewhere. Once the groups BF was sorted out, docs had topped up buffs and dealt with other wounds, etc, the professionals would be off out of there to go deal with another group.
(Hey, we could actually earn a living doing this? Where do I sign up....)

You CAN'T register a location outside of a city. Such a camp would have to be found by actually traveling near enough to it that you see it/hear the chat from it or by being told of it by someone who has been there. This seems to me to be too chancy a proposition for any bots to care to risk.

2 cents--Entertainers being able to heal BF in a camp would be GREAT!

I love the idea... my only problem is i'm a MBH on my main character, and since they changed from master scout to 4xxx for novice BH... I'd be stuck w/ a novice scout camp... maybe implementing a system that works in tiers. Novice scout camps... takes maybe 10 times as long as a lvl 4 scout camp to heal or whatever... but would still be beneficial, and this would help out the new players also. I remember sitting outside the squill cave when I was still new, with a bunch of my friends all crammed upin a camp trying to heal, playin my slitherhorn
Just think that we shouldn't leave novices out of the action... just maybe make there be some sort of incentive to progress.
