Definately. Falling as it is is no fun... but if we could fall on command (as it were) it would be.

To be honest, what I'm shooting for with the fall stuff is to do away with them completely. The falls, as they are now,are a penalty without a contrasting chance at a benefit for the Dancer... so it's just a losing proposition, and isn't fun gameplay to be under the gun for randomfalls like that. If it were generally seen as fun, we wouldn't have so many people brandishing weapons while they dance.
Buuuut, as a side bonus (which would take more work on their part, but I thought I'd ask anyway), I'm asking them to give us an added /flourish fall command to call up those fall animations as needed for roleplay or other reasons. This too is something that has been long discussed here in the Dancer forum, and I'm going for it. Worst they can do is say no, right? Can't hurt to ask.

What is being done about the Buff bot, afk entertainer Situation? Are we totally dependant On SoE, to work on this? or are there Proactive steps we can take against a facet of the game, that is affecting not only the entertainer community, But the entire MMO? By relying, and allowing Buff Bots, it discourages social player to player interaction in the cantinas, which has always been One of the things that kept the player community from becoming a " Play in a vacuum" type of setting.
Fact is, I play eq2, and CoH, But I have come back here, because SWG has a spirit of community the others as yet do not have. It just feels as though that spirit of community is going out the window, and one of the reasons is the Buff bots.
So... what is SoE prepared to do, and failing any responce that satisfies us, what can we, and are we prepared to do?

Regarding the first part of your question... much would depend, I think, on what one considered to be 'proactive steps', and whether or not SOE would consider those steps to be 'griefing' under their rules -the ones we all agree to abide by when logging in. I refer readers to this thread in our sticky area- Warning!!! Do not interact with Buffbots! - for the discussions that were going on at one point in time on the subject. These points still seem to hold true, so I don't recommend doing anything that might jeopardize your own subscription. Unattendedness drives us crazy here in the Dancer forum, but having your account banned isn't likely to increase your fun with the game./shrug
On your second question, SOE has stated that they will be taking definitive steps to stopping unattended "play" in SWG at several points and in multiple threads, though no specific timeline nor plan outline has yet been revealed. So... we're left speculating as to the how and when. And yes, doing away with unattendedness still holds as the #1 reported Dancer Issue time and time again in community polls, andIremind them of that fact frequently... in case they might have forgotten, or something...
.
I don't think there's a hold up in the desire to get rid of unattendedness, but in how to most effectively accomplish that without diminishing the 'legitimate' parts of the systems that would be so affected. The more that one thinks about the whole mess, the moreone starts torealize it's a sticky situation to do right, at least from a technical standpoint. Beyond those observations/hypotheses, we can only guess, as there's been no official announcement regarding plans or timelines to date. We all know it has to happen, but as I said... it's the how or when that isn't yet clear.
We've had several changes, fixes, partial-fixes and/or fixes-in-the-works in recent months, so soon I'll be starting up a new discussion thread to update what we as a community see as our current Top Issues, and we'll go from there anew. From that discussion, I'll build the next Top Issues document.

Small question reguarding those comments and the commitment to remove AFK. Knowing that Tyrant was the one that made those comments and also appeared to be THE driving force behind the scenes at removing it,(as well as knowing what you know but is covered by NDA)
Now that it appears Tyrant is gone is this still going to happen ?

One way or another I'm sure they'll get rid of buffbots, thebane of our existence.

There hasn't been any word to the contrary. Course, there hasn't been solid word on the aforementioned hows and whens either.
Your guess is as good as mine, but it's far too early to worry that this was only a Tyrant-championed issue. On the other hand... there may yet be more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.

I've gone through the thread and tabulated all responses, and here is how the numbers play out. I think it's a reasonable representation of what the Dancing community sees as our biggest issues/bugs/etc. No real surprises here, but listed for your viewing pleasure:
- [...]
- [...]
- Buffing issues; including inability to self-buff, bug preventing music and dance buffs to be applied simultaneously, lack of interface/feedback to measure buffing progress,

Using Deila's most recent list (original post in this thread) and taking into consideration all changes brought about by Publish 14.1, this appears to be our most recent bugs/issues in regards to the state of the Dancer profession on the Live servers. Please provide additional information.
Unattended play & buffbots: The ability to fully automate all game mechanics aspects of the Dancer profession.
Some dancers are unable to complete the 2nd part of the Theater Quest and learn Theatrical 2, regardless of how much xp they gain by dancing Theatrical.
Between when Tumble, Tumble 2, Breakdance and Breakdance 2 went from TC to Live, their positions in the Dance Knowledge branch was changed. The xp given by these dances was not changed and is inconsistent with xp provided by other dances in the same boxes.
Incomplete dances: The lack of 8 unique flourishes in all dances.
Buffing issues: including inability to self-buff, lack of interface/feedback to measure buffing progress.
Entertainer Missions; scalability with level, payouts & gameplay value.
These 5 topped the overall list by a wide margin. Honorable mentions for responses go to:
Dance rewards for all species/genders,
Dance rewards for all species/genders,
Dancer loot from non-combat sources,
General lack of content / build on the Entertainer Quests,
Art issues - clothing/jewelry clipping, etc.,
Lack of group start and change dance commands
Player theater issues - the "outside vs. inside" problem that disallows ent healing/buffing and items to be placed on stages

Mmmm, personaly I'd like to have back the steering commands with the numpad keys 1 and 3. If I use them now, my character turns in my view, but not in the eyes of others, which makes facing and controlled drifts impossible.
