Buffing is the only game mechanic it provides.

However, a dancer who does a good job of properly timing a variety of lights and visual effects throughout the dance routine looks a heck of a lot better than one who either does them indiscriminately or doesn't do them at all.

I use one visual affect or another on almost every flourish unless I am roleplaying really intensely and forget to do it or get delayed in my timings (I feel that an imporperly timed visual effect is worse than none at all). I have received many compliments on it.

People's favorite seems to be a move I have dubbed "Kick the Probe Droid." Using popular2 (1 works also), I use F1. I then time the visual effect that looks like a multi-colored disco ball (I forget the name) as she is getting ready to kick, so it looks like she is kicking the disco ball. When I use the name ("Kick the Probe droid") I almost always get a laugh and some applause.

That's just one example. I have lots of others I do like that. It's all a question fo figuring out which visual looks best with which move (spotlight looks good with formal on most flourishes, for instance) and then timing it right so the visual happens at what I call the "top" of the flourish.

Trust me a dancer who has mastered this ability will look a lot better dancing than one who doesn't do any visuals or one who does them poorly.

I'm already pretty sure of this, but I did want to double check: The Dance Techniques skills have no effect on a dancers ability to do an active mind buff right?

I am nearing the point of having to make a decision on what skills to drop and I am considering some or all dance techniques as one possibility, but I consider the mind buff to be a high priority.

Thanks,

That is definately not true. Dance technique skill is directly linked to ability to give buffs - it's what gives the "Dancer's mind enhancement" skill which determines how good your buff is.

Ah, all right, thanks Tiaga! Hmmm, I had tath all wrong then, I thought it was the 2 healing lines that determined the quality of the buff. So, those two skill lines determine only the speed of mind and BF healing? Thanks,

Iwen
