Thread: a nonSOE fix to the afkmacrotainer hologrinders

In the same vien, why don't we get rid of factories? Isn't that just Crafting professionals crafting while AFK? yeap.. better kill that. Oh, and while we're at it, get rid of the Politician and Merchant skills, too, as they don't do anything active at the keyboard to earn they're XP at all, so might as well just trash the entire thing.
You get NO xp for factory production, and while politicians and merchant's get XP while they're not active at the keyboard, they don't have to take up server bandwidth and remain online as a macro-bot to do it.
All professions can be AFK-macroed to one degree or another - I've seen some very ingenious (though still lame) ways to AFK-grind marksman, scout, and brawler XP. The point is this: if some guy is AFK-macroing a fencer, or an architect, or a creature-handler, it doesn't really affect the game play of the other people practicing that profession. But the dancer and musician exist solely for the purpose of social interaction - AND we can't practice our profession just anywhere. Heck, even the medics can get droids to free them from being bound to the med centers, but we have to ply our trade in the designated areas. If those areas are crowded with AFK holo-tourists spamming for heals, and there is no one left to have social interaction with - then my profession is bankrupt. That's where we stand today!

as for that other post.... can you tell me how to rebuild my deny list?
Oops, okay, I guess not. But I'll keep a record and remember. And I'm also holding to my vow to /deny each and every jedi character without exception.
As evidenced by the post called something like "Yay, and thanks to all the AFK entertainers", there are 100% valid reasons to macro dance/music while AFK.
If someone posted "Yay, and thanks to all you credit dupers" because someone gave them a few million credits, would that make it a 100% valid reason? Hell no.
That was what I was trying to do, Velvet, but n'Jessi says it doesn't work. I guess the player in question has to be in the immediate area in order for /deny to work (sort of like /examine). I thought maybe I was just doing it wrong. I'm going to try this again when I get home.
Umm ...
Listen to yourselves. Only thing you are stirring is your own hatred ... Don't you remember hatred is a path to the dark side?
But seriously, I had no problem attracting attentions at Theed cantina yesterday within a hour. (and he wasn't asking for buffs.) I think if you don't get attentions right now, you won't likely to get any once afkers are gone. Pessimistically speaking of course, but the point is that most of youblindlybelieveanti-afker policy.
I was there when there wasvirtually noafkers. ... It was no better back than now with many afkers. (We had so hard time trying to group up to promoting XPing; we didn't care if you are AFK or not. I suppose this issue doesn't effect me because I kinda grew with it and resigned to it.)

P.S. I totally disagree about forever-falling-toward-darkside thing that Yoda said... I think there should a space for redemption ... I would love to see Maul smile genuinely and live a life of ahumble man.
Yep,
That's why I posted. That's like only thing you people are posting. If you post like that, you are only going to get more upset.
Look on the bright side. There will be more Jedi around. I kinda like the idea. I don't blame them. It's very difficult to climb up the dancer skill tree for it's own sakes.
And, yes it is all about attention. You can't start a meaningful conversation if you can't get attentions. Thereare some esoteric arts of getting "right" kinds of attentions. There lies the difference between a just-a-dancer and a good one.
