Thread: Lack of Tips
You don't know how a person has played the game. I know for myself when I have started a new character my tips have been paltry because I'm trying to buy gear or what ever, but I still want to share my appreciation. When I'm playing my main character (a dancer) and someone gives me a small tip, I thank them just the same. It's nice to make money and all, but I'm definitely not in it for the tips.

I am that Ineva, yes the one who got the tiny tip!! I dance, i converse and even have fun in the cantina I dance in. Plus no matter the size of the tip (even the 1 credit tips) I send a message to the person with a thanx and a smile, Always! I really don't care about the size of the tip or even no tip but like others have said please if you only want to tip 1 credit you'd be as well keeping it. Anyway thats my 2 cents worth, i'll go back to just reading the forumsagain. :-)
Be well, stay safe and happy entertaining :-)
I also run missions for money, so I'm not dependent on tips. I dance because I love dancing and the social aspect. However, I do have to agree that when someone tips me I feel more appreciated and respected. I always thank people for tips.
From my experience, no matter how nice you are, greeting people and conversing, putting on a good show with lots of effects and costume changes, there are some who will simply not tip you what you think you, your entertaining, and your service is worth. Sure, there are many people who appreciate this interaction and increasing it may increase your tips with them. It's not a guarantee though. Some people are just miserly, unappreciative, forgetful, indifferent, or only like free service. There are those who appreciate that greeting and won't tip without it but then they don't interact with you. The silent type that tips. Of course, in that case you got your money anyway, so whether they talk back to you or not is kind of a moot point if all you're after is tips.

Actually when I try to talk to someone it's not just for the tip only, it's for the conversation. Hell, I'm performing for hours, so I would appreciate some kind of refreshing conversation *smile*
But about the "silent type". I sometimes feel like "okay you talked to me, here is a tip and stop bothering me". Well it's okay with me just a bit strange *smile*

In some cases, the person could be RPing the silent type. It can be hard to differentiate between someone RPing the strong, silent type and someone who feels uncomfortable with the idea of having a conversation in a video game. The former adds to the atmosphere while the latter has some hang-ups which I wouldn't want to interfere with.
I prefer people to talk with me as I dance. Since I no longer dance for xp, I need a reason to dance. Tips are nice, but I usually can make 10 times the money by taking missions. I thrive on conversation and the good feeling I get by helping and amusingother people.
I just noticed on the new patch notes that dancers can buff mind stats. I never knew this before, and it sounded interesting so I came to the fourm to find out more about dancers.
When I go into a cantina, I almost always tip. What might keep me from tipping? A musician standing there playing the base music the whole time, with AFK over his head. Why tip, if he isn't even there to notice it?
That being said, I normally don't have that many wounds when I come in, and usually tip between 500 and 1000. Lately it has been more towards the 500 range. I normally tip doctors 1000 and it actually costs them something for the components they use to heal with. I realize the dancing takes up a lot of time, and you need to be compensated for that time, but there is really no expense, that I know of, associated with your profession, so I think it only natural that an entertainers tips will be less than those given to a doctor.
