I sometimes think I dance too much.
I've been a Master Dancer since November and dance quite a bit every day. I couldnt give you a percentage however. I do the harvester run about every 3-4 days. Check my sales on the bazaar every 2-3 days. On my days off I work a little on my TK. Other than that you will probably find me at the Bishop's Sanctuary (to quote my dear sister, friend, and dance partner, Kirah) dancing my little footies off (. . . maybe that should be feeties. )

What some people have said reminded me of something that I do too, that I didn't mention in my first post. While the vast majority of my dancing time is spent in a Cantina, NPC or otherwise, buffing people or just dancing, I do actually dance in other places as well. I'll quite often start dancing at the shuttle or starports during my wait time, especially if there's a musician playing. It gives me something to do that I consider fun, alleviates my own boredom during the waits, and people actually watch me. I can tell because they start doing the clapping animation. I'm sure there are others who may be holding a weapon that prevents them from clapping that are watching me as well. I have had people /cheer for me and /tip me at starports when I do this.

I also dance quite often in camps during downtime in hunting parties. Even if I am only dancing for a minute or so, and people watch me there too. If they don't have a mindbuff at the time while they're in my group, they'll get a buff that lasts 15 or 20 minutes (or more) from this, which also makes me more useful, and adds to my in game fun.

Heck, now that I think about it, if I'm not doing something else specific, like fighting, or running my factories, I'm often dancing. How many other professions have such readily accessible content to alleviate boredom during downtime?

I have been a master dancer since... um... August. I am also a master Image Designer, master Entertainer and the rest of my skill points are in Music 4/0/4/3. This is my only character. Based on your definition of what is dancing, I guess you could say I spend nearly all my online time dancing. I use music usually only to buff someone, ID clients are relatively rare and I never dance AFK or use macros except when buffing. So... um, something like15 hours maybe per week dancing. Give or take a little it's really hard to say with accuracy.

I probably spend 6-8 hours per week doing dance prep work... Practicing, working with Tailors on new costumes, planning Player Events, etc.

Of my play time, I probably spend 30-40% (depending on the week) dancing, a sad 30% traveling between gigs (most of my dancing is done as custom gigs at the request of players for an event or hunting group, etc), the other 30-40% is spent doing "maintenance" tasks--I'm a Master Medic, too, so I need to craft meds, gather resources, go on hunting trips, do guild support work, etc. So I guess if you lumped it together, I spend 60-70% of my time doing things related to dance, 30% doing other things. But dancing is by far what I consider my primary profession--the other things I need to do to pay for new clothes

I spend the majority of my time dancing... or shopping for clothes for dancing.

Breestan you shopping all wrong!

It is a Sultrina ritual and something I highly suggest to "boogie test" everything I buy, therefore I can say with complete conviction I am dancing even when I am shopping!

I been a master dancer since around 2nd week of release. When all my dancing friends got struck down with that dreaded disease "Jedi madness" I still stuck it out.

Now i am a full time entertainer. Having master dancer/ Master Musician/ Master entertainer/ and currently am working on getting two line of ID

Since i am non combat period i think that its safe to assume i spend probably 95% of my online time entertaining. of that 95% i would say about 50% of it is done dancing the other half doing Music..and the last 5% out of a hundred doing ID.

I really want to see this profession thrive..i enjoy it immensly so i am willing to put aside everything for it and have been doing just that.

Been a master dancer since June 2003... between my two accounts I dance and play music (and sing :smileyvery-happy every day. But I also roleplay... so hmm... I suppose I dance whenever I can!

If I said I dance in my sleep too, would that make me cwazy in the head?

I want the new-ness factored out of the equation. Dancing has plenty of appeal to get you there... but does it keep you there? And no, people don't HAVE to be watching, but if no one is watching you have to be actively dancing (manual flourishes, lights, or setting up dance macros).

Do Dancers who have no interest in advancing (skill point limit and such) count as Masters for purposes of the survey? I know some Dancers who are not Masters and care for XP about as much as a Master does.

Actively dancing....I'd say I spent about 2% of my time doing that. Again, if non-new non-Masters count.

Agreed, I'm currently 0/0/1/0 dancer, have been higher, will probably level higher again. But SP's mean that currently this is the limit. However I do spend a fair bit of time healing my guildmates and have no intention of dropping dancer. Probably 5 hours a week ATK dancing atm.
