I use the same tactic as Breestan. I have found more times then not you can get a feel for if someone is interested in talking or not without actually saying anything that is directed at them.



I use my droid as a conversationalist piece of hardware. People come in i am having a conversation with good ole R3

"Dammit R3 this is the last time i am gonna tell ya! I told you 50 times now that that bridge section of the song is in 9/8 time not 2/3!


"No no no! dont bother asking that guy there, does he look like he can even play an instrument to you? When was the last time you saw someone play music with an Ion gun?"

Can you believe the nerve of some droids these days!?



There are so many ways you can play this out. People like stories that are out of the ordinary. Regardless if you realize it or not. If your in character it adds something to the immersiveness of the experience. I have yet to find anyone that doesnt respond at all to any of these types of roleplaying. Sure sometimes they swerve out of character...but the point is i got their attention and i am now holding that attention to me. And thats all that matters
