Just nice and fair. *shrug* Try it.

i agree with panthu on this theres is always gonne be some kind of atk two ocmputer buffers in anybuffing profession it hppens in doc it gonna aand has happened in dancer however there not a threat to us and dont ruin the profession as afk ones because they cant run 23 hours 7 days a week unattented.. not to mention there is nothing that could be dont about them ever so theres really no point in arguing about it i mean what would the solution be everyone can only own one account ya right thatll happen. in fact i have friends in guilds who have this type of bott for raidsand base protections and such its only on when they are and only to buff there group.

Heh, all of these questions lend itself to the old adage, "you have no right to tell others how to play."

Of course, I could always justify my hatred of buffbots because they weren't really playing (among other things). But, if all goes well, the new topics du jour are gonna be those posed in this thread.

Two things that I already know that annoy me: Dancers that buff for free, Dancers that crowd the door. And, I suppose the "atk" buffer who only checks in every now and again to hit F1 and acts like a buffbot. Now logically, without me being a hypocrite, I feel I can't complain about this because as I said, they're playing, and they're playing how they want to play. I probably would never even say anything to a dancer I met in game that did any of this stuff. Logically, they don't deserve my animosity. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that these things do annoy me because they ruin the spirit of fair competition. But, again, this *is* going to happen, and there's nothing I can do about it. And, I'm not sure that I want to be able to do anything about it because there comes a point where if too many restrictions are put into the game then I start to run the risk of losing some of my freedoms in game as well.

As Sirii points out, once the buffbots are gone, and we only have to deal with rude atk dancers, that is where we have to make the effort to be better in order to compete. That's when we have to engage the customer either through amusing chat or performance. We can even try to better our technical abilities by learning how to buff as quickly as possible, or searching out skill tapes. That's when the onus is now on us to build a clientele with our particular skills, whatever they may be, however we excel. Carrying animosity towards the rude atk dancer will not do us any good. We may want to talk to them and ask for a bit of fairness. But, often times that's not going to work, and the first time one of these rude atk dancers says something rude in response to our inquiries, it's time to just end the conversation. You're not going to get anywhere, and it will be clear that this person is not interested in contributing to the community, only in being selfish. So, barring your "first contact" with such a dancer, it's up to you to learn how to compete.

...

Two things.

Naish: go away. We are SO TIRED OF YOUR TROLLING.

Euclase: If you think Panthu is trying to push her own agenda for the dancer profession, you insult her and I take exception to that.

You two are both trolls, if you ask me. You've both posted NUMEROUS threads in this forum for the express purpose of riling people up. Go find another profession to plague... or better yet, just stop posting altogether.

Well, I can tell you right now that Starsider will have around 0 people buffing via dancing or musicianafter they ax the afk buffing. Why? Because I don't even 'remember' the last time I saw a live mind buffer. Yeah, it's been like a year and I 'think' I may have had one, once. Heck, it's rare that I even encounter a live entertainer, let alone one that might be giving buffs. So I guess the future is dead cantinas on Starsider. (we'll see won't we?)

Uh, I buff on Starsider. I used to buff at the Mining OP on Dant a lot, but lately there have been two Dancer Buffbots in the first room. It's just too crowded. *shrug* I still buff in Coronet a lot every week. I also stay and buff anywhere else I end up for other reasons (shopping, guild hunt, events). So, I know for sure there will be at least one Live buffer for the publicno matter what on Starsider.

I'll be buffing on Starsider... as soon as I get that freaking healing xp.

If you are worried about finding a buff try cultivating a few dancers and musicians so you know where they will be and when they will be on. I would have no problem traveling to buff a friend if asked. Make some new friends.

Here is my opinion, why don'tthose who are tired of debating just ignore the thread thereby not debating. Rather than posting some barb about how they are tired of debating? Just my opinion.

I was referring to the high-travel area of Dantooine specifically, but it applies to practically everywhere I've been that you haven't. I get it from traveling around, which I do alot of. And it doesn't change the fact that I haven't seen a LIVE music/dancing buffer in the mining outpost for weeks. So I get my info from actually playing the game.

So, Datchery, when you say "Well, I can tell you right now that Starsider will have around 0 people buffing via dancing or musicianafter they ax the afk buffing", what you really mean is "Well, I can tell you right now that Starsider will have around 0 people buffing in a particular cantina of Dantooine which I frequent, and I don't wanna have to deal with a 10 minute trip to get a mind buff?"

Your very ignorant to assume that no one buffs. With this additude I wouldn't buff you even if you paid me a million credits. And for the fact that you claim no one is ever around on Danto your are even more foolish because I buff at the Agro outpost everyday. So obviously you don't travel as much as you claim because every place I goto buff people I see live entertainers almost everywhere. So maybe you don't actually play the game as much as you claim.

The first post in this thread was 8-25-04, I've played every day since that (3 cheers for vacations) and I had played almost every day for the weeks before. That's alot of game time for anyone, maybe even too much. I haven't seen a SINGLE live dancer or musician buffingin all that time, and I play on peak hours frequently travel all planets. I'm not "assuming" Myt_Chicken, I am speaking from actual experience in the game. There simply aren't any people doing dancer and musician buffs in the Mining Outpost (that's the high travel zone for Dantooine).

I make the highly accurate claim that there are 'rarely' live buff providing dancers/musicians on Dantooine in the high-travel areas, in fact the only visible providers were all afk buff-bots. I've been both a musician and a dancer and an image designer (which isn't as bad as you might think) and while doing this stuff you get to see alot of the player behavior in the various high-trafficked areas. I'm not saying entertainers don't exist, I'm just saying the 'live' population is very very small, and the buffing group of that even smaller.

I have live buffed on Starsider in that time period. I have buffed friends and anyone else there in the Mining OP who asked me while I was there. I said in my earlier post in this thread, I do not stay in the Mining OP buffing anymore because of the Buffbots. I will not stand in a Cantina that small and watch them, they get on my nerves. *shrug* I still buff anyone who asks me if I am there though. If they were gone and there were live Ent groups, I would hang out there again. My city is just a hop away. I used to hang out there all the time and I still do when friends are there PvPing.

Buff Bots do make live Buffers rare. I agree if that's your point. If I showed up or was called there and there was not a Buff Bot or 3 already there, I would stay longer like I used to. We have a whole thread where you can talk about the various merits and flaws of Buff Bots now, please use it instead of replying here or this thread will most likely get deleted. It's stickied at the top. Thanks.

Edit: Uh, I read that date wrong... I was buffing there two nights ago though soooo....
