My first R2 is named showoff he has 5 effects units and one playback unit. I quickly realized that playback was more important so ....

3 R2 playback units
backup - Imaji now carries him for when I want a three piece band for me and Imaji.
sidekick - He has the higher level songs.
IPlayBetter - He has the lower level songs.

3 playback 1 effects unit floating droid (I don't remember the combat droids names heh).
Butterfly - The name has a strong private, personal, and special meaning for me.

Yes I like playback droids.

I have two R3's which I use at performances with the band (Nebula), and which are named after the band, NebulaMusicMonster (playback, obviously) and NebulaShowFreak (effects). I only ever use the playback droid really...

And I also have an R2 with mainly playback modules which was my very first entertainer droid, obtained just a few days after they became available. I named that one Jukebox (more innocent times

)

My main entertainer droid with all 6 effects is named Corbett after a musician friend who quit. Always had quite the crush on him.

My other two droids are (Not-Voce) who is NOT named after my ex-husband

and (Moving-Target) 'cause somehow... it always ends up getting shot.

I just name droids like they did in the movies, sounding out letter and number codes -- e.g. Beatie or Artoo. None of them are entertainer droids, however.

I think if I do ever get an entertainer droid, it will be named QT-3.14.

I have 3 entertainer droids:

Aurora - This R3 droid has all six lighting effects, which is why her name is Aurora . I will usually set her up to patrol around the cantina, or wherever else I happen to be performing.

a 3PO protcol droid - This was my first playback droid, but it only has 3 playback tracks. I wish I could give him an actual name.

Andante - This is my latest R3 droid, and has 3 playback tracks, and 3 lighting effects (Electric Fog, Confetti, and Foam). Andante means "moderate in tempo" in music .

Hideki.

Because I always, ALWAYS have a droid and/or pet named Hideki.

All of my droids have anime names. Most of my pets have, too. I have Ceres (my crafty droid, and storage) Hideki, Tohya (storage), Chidori (Storage), and Yuuhi (storage).

I also have Kaoru (bantha) and Hasaki (dewback). Hasaki is the only one not directly named for a character.

Bonus points to anyone who can name the anime all of the droids - except Hideki - is from!

and performed to a crowded cantina in Mos Espa.
I will use a respec and become an entertainer again,
pull out my last pet from my creature handler days
and dance in an empty cantina in Mos Espa and disconnect from the game forever.

Kaoru would be Kenshin. Ceres is most likely from Ayashi No Ceres. I have no idea on the others.

I don't have a droid yet. I'm not really sure what they do, so I haven't invested in one. Perhaps I should.

Kaoru is actually Evangelion. I'd never, ever name my bantha after Miss Kaoru.

And yes, Ceres, Tohya, Chidori an Yuuhi are Ayashi no Ceres.

Ah. I've not seen Ceres, so I'm not really familiar with the characters. I'm only on DVD 3 of Eva at the moment. I have the whole thing on VHS, but Asuka's dub voice annoyed me to no end, so I stopped watching it. With the Platinum Edition out now, I've slowly been getting it. No sightings of anyone named Kaoru yet, though.
