And don't forget...you can always try to set up a "gimmick" but try not to be TOO perverse, please =) What I'm saying is try to get something that actually SUITS you, not just the first exotic leotard. Try and actually plan an outfit. For the "dominatrix" gimmick (note: doesn't mean you have to ACT like one, but it helps you stand out) A good suggestion (I think anyway) is to get some Ubese Armor Gloves, black fleshwrap, and black dress shoes. A necklace of some kind doesn't hurt neither. Some of the other gimmicks (schoolgirl is one that appeals to most guys lol) don't really have a great selection of clothes that work, so you might need to talk a certain way or anything else your imagination can conjure up. I go with my dominatrix outfit the most often (seems to be most popular) and tips are generally 1k (not TOO bad) and I usually get one per hour (and if I dont get 1k tip, I get more tips that add up to about the same; It's not that bad) so, try and set up an act or personality that will catch someone's eye. Opposite colors work good too, since they contradict each other. (I'm a white Bothan that wears black...I kinda stick out) Anyway, that's just MY suggestion. =)

I think the discussion is really interesting but I have do blow off some of the advice. Especially the fleshwrap advice. I'm sorry, I'm a cute little asian girl and happy cheering watchers and tips don't lie. Not only cute Twi'leks with lekku can look hot in a number designed to tease with just a hint too much skin, ok? Not that I want everyone in one mind you! Where's the uniqueness?

I totally agree about having a variety of outfits. I'm not about being stuck up and having my clients buy me them, although I've had such sweet gifts. I think really half or more of my income hasn't been in tips but in getting to know someone and getting things they specialize in. This is perfectly fair, in my view. I am offering a service and having fun, they can as well.

My dancing is more of a natural, flirtatious, friendly manner. I don't know about sticking to one or two clubs either -- I love seeing some of the same faces but it seems that most citizens of the galaxy travel a lot anyway. You aren't going to develop that great of a clientele. And for those who become close to you, your location won't make any difference!

Have a man pay for my things? Oh the men I'm dancing for...I'm sorry I thought you meant the mean I shoot... Well yes I can see this working very well. But I'd much rather flirt up that handsome imperial officer or stormtrooper for goverment sercets than pretty clothes. Flamethrowers and pistols make nice gifts too. And there was that one customer who offered to bring me the heads of my enmeys on a pike....but blood is SO hard to get out of fine Rori leather...

Loved it! You have to post this on the game guides

Obviously this must be pointed out that i am speaking as Mi-Lady Guenevere. I have been dancing since day 1. I have a number of regulars that tip me very well. I do not dress inapropiately, I do not give lap dances, and I also make sure that the dancers in the Moena cantina are treated with respect. I make VERY good money as an entertainer. I enjoy the interaction with the customers and other entertainers. All you need to do is respect yourself, be friendly, thank those who tip and heal you, and you will go a long way. those of you who have AFK'd your way through the profession may not have a large following because you were NEVER THERE!!!!!!! I feel shame for all of you who did that. I work very hard and am still not at Master yet, however I will be soon, and I will be by being there to entertain my customers and intreract with them.

Gentle reader. I must apologize for any misguidance I may have caused here. Many of you seem to have read quite a bit more into my advise than was intended. Really, some of your comments suggest that you believe me to be a most mercernary sort!

I would like to offer some gentle corrections to anything that may have been implied by my missive:

First: do not ask for gifts! That would be most unladylike and is simply crass. It is also quite unnecessary. A lady of quality will be given what she needs as a matter of course. If you find it to be necessary to fill in certain gaps in your wardrobe, you can leave suggestions with your tailor and simply let it be known which tailor you use. This is how you can establish your particular style too: let your tailor know what you like and dislike.

Secondly, be generous: tip healers well when you ask for their services. You do not need to tip healers in your group, but certainly thank them for their services and offer to pay for materials at the end of a session. Don't forget to tip your tailor too, as well as any other service people you use.

Third, when flirting, flirt honestly. Find something you truly admire about your partner and comment on it. If you cannot flirt honestly, engage your customer in some other fashion. Flirting is a fun and exquisite art! Do not tarnish it by simply flirting with everyone in sight.

Finally, your goal should not be to raise false hopes or "leech off poor men". It should simply be to entertain and to do so in a fun and engaging way. Be fun, be daring, be wild, be coy, be aloof, be brash, be classy. Whatever it is that is needed for the current mix of customers, but do so with intelligence, style and honesty.

Thak you for this guide, i am a male Tailor, and have been giving away free clothes, to help out entertainers, but after reading this, i realized that ents take my stuff cause they dont want to pay for it themselfs. From now on i am going to sell clothes at higher rates than normal to any ents. also no longer will i give away money for people that need traveling. ENTERTAINERS PAY FOR YOUR OWN THINGS

Personally... I find most of that first post to be pretty trite.

I buy 100% of my own clothes. Why? Cause honestly, men can't shop for nice clothes! LOL I have occiasionally got some nice jewellery though.... but since there's only a few styles of necklace, they really can't screw that up.

As for the comment about fleshwraps... good lord, what is the problem with you people? It is an article of clothing in the game, intended to be worn! Period! I'm paying 15 bucks a month to "enjoy" myself.... if I happen to "enjoy" wearing a fleshwrap, I am going to, whether you like it or not. (And yes,I am a skinny Twi'lek female, but I often dance with a human friend, and she looks equally good in hers.) The only clothing I don't think should be worn is the cloaks and jackets which causes a graphic bug so the dancer looks "topless" underneath. That is not the way these were intended to be worn.

Another tidbit about fleshwraps... I was flipping through the Style section of the newspaper a few days back when I saw a pic of something that look very much like a fleshwrap. The article was a review of the Summer 2004 Dior Collection by Galiano, but the caption under the pic mentioned Vivienne Westwood, so I'm not sure who the designer was... but suffice to say, either they play SWG (not likely) or someone as SOE had a sneal preview of the collection.

Personally, I wear a luxurious gown most of the time when I dance... that article of clothing is simply one of my fave pieces in the game. Heck, I wish I had something like that IRL (and I wish I could look that good in it too). I love long, sophisticated looking gloves, and I adore chokers... so that is what I choose to wear.

I used to believe these things didn't look good on anyone...until I realized that what I was seeing were the basic colours on Barbie Doll figures. You put a good colour on someone with a dancer's figure, and it's very flattering and covers a hell of alot more than hotpants and a bikini top....

Me too. You would think the "tongue-in-cheek" comment would have been a clue

As for the flesh-wrap thing: Gwen doesn't mind the skin, she just thinks they don't look very good except on a very few. She's much too tall and much to pale to have them look right and she's vain enough to think that they must not look good on any other human either.

I prefer to use the force to get my tips.

I dance real pretty like and sway my hips alot, maybe a couple of pretty lights. And then when the patron is looking bleary eyed and goggling me up and down i just whisper while waving my hand.

Ceta says "You want to put a big tip in my garter."

Men say " I want to put a big tip in your garter."

Ceta says "You want to tell all your friends to put a tip in my garter."

Men say " I want to tell all my friends to put a tip in your garter."

It works quite well once you get the knack for it. Although being force sensitive helps things along.
