Thread: Is it just me or are Master Dancers not falling anymore?

Just more misogyny from the devs, expect little better.
Oh good, so male dancers don't fall? ![]()
Not to be a pest, but let's try to avoid generalizing professions by gender, huh?
And I said that where?
It has nothing to do with 'generalizing', Wemi. The VAST majority of dancers are female characters. Verant knew this, Verant expected this, Verant intended this, without a second thought. Look at the female-centric clothing options and the female-centric dance routines, and it's obvious. So just because a handful of stalwart players rev up their male dancers and suffer their own form of sexism, doesn't make Verant ANY less misogynistic when it comes to insisting that scantily clad dancers (the majority of whom are female) fall on their rumps, for no other reason that so everyone gets a good laugh.
Please don't attribute Verant's generalizations to me.
Back on topic, I've tried it with a staff and a spraystick, still falling on the exotics, never mind how ridiculous it looks
I've tested dancing with every possible weapon type in hand, and I have found that I will still "fall" doing any of the master dances. Yes I am a master dancer, and yes I have alot of money to spend, even on commando and bounty hunter weapons.
No dancer has ever, and will ever fall doing lyrical or lyrical2. It's simply a matter of the fact that the "falling" animation is a break in a random flourish that starts out looking like it could be a truly beautiful one, but you end up missing a step and just stop in the middle and walk back to your starting point. You don't fall, but you do mess up the flourish.
I also have noticed that after reaching master dancer, I have never fallen on any dance that is not a master dance. I never got to experience the fixed "fall" for poplock, as I reached master too early. I tend to like doing exotic2 and plain lyrical because of the fact that I don't mess up, and I can time my flourishes on lyrical so that one starts right after the other one ends, thereby not doing the "airplane" and still having the dance look like lyrical2.
Peace, love, and cookies,
I have had several people tell me holding something keeps one from falling. I have not seen that as the case. I do get a wide variety to my falling, though. Sometimes I can dance for hours without a fall. The next time I connect, I can not perform a certain flourish without falling. Maybe there is a flaw with the random percent generator code. ![]()
I am not a master yet, but am getting close.
Keep those feet flurrying and the hips hoppin!
GACK I so wish I could say this. I HATE falling!!! As a Master it is so humiliating to fall like a noob
Makes you look so inept!

Could they at least make the falling animations a little shorter and less embarassing? I have yet to see any combat animations that are so demeaning to a player. Actually are there any other animations that are as embarassing, maybe the puking when you're coming down from da spice? Some folks can laugh it off, but I even blush IRL when I wipe out in front of someone.
I love falling on my you-know-what for like 15 seconds. Honestly, shouldn't a higher level Dancer at least be able to cover it up with a SmokeBomb? Not gonna work, the fall is longer than the special effect.
Gahhhh...

You've obviously never seen the animation for Charge Shot 1....
I always fall when I do not have anything in my hand and I am a master dancer. It is embarrasing. People come into the cantina and there I am in my beautiful gown.. with a pistol in my hand, people tend to say to me "hey, hey woman! Take it easy with that gun!" "don't point and me with that gun" etc etc. It sure do not fit my outfit wearing a pistol. Is there anything that is smaller than the pistol that you can eqiup while dancing? Sticks are too big in my opinion... depends on the dance of course, but a stick while dancing exotic aint a pretty sight.

I too am now holding my pistol almost exclusively when I dance. I sometimes try the vibroblade, because its a little less intimidating looking, but I've fallen holding it. I hate being in my beautiful expensive gown and shoes with a really fancy headdress and holding the gun. I think I hate falling more though, I think about what is on that cantina floor and what it does to my beautiful clothes and it makes me sick. Umm if its any consolation, some folks think the whole dancer with pistol is cool in a "James Bond Girl" kind of way, and I try to remember that. I wish we could at least have something tiny that doesn't show up when we hold it, like a "Dancer's Marble of Not Falling On Her Ass". LOL
Exotic definitely does not work with a staff.
