Yeah, AFK will dwindle when the Jedi thing changes but that's a good while off. And since AFK was a problem before Jedi Holocrons, I doubt that it will be gone entirely. (but I'd take 1 afk person in a cantina as opposed to 20)
This weekend is bad for me, usually isn't
But it's easter and I'm hanging out with the fiance's family. And his grandmother fell face first yesterday (ugly story, the poor dear) so I want to be able to help take care of her.
However, if you guys do meet, someone send me an ingame mail to tell me what's been going on. I definitely want to be a part of it (and if I get the chance saturday, I'll be there.)

I'm waiting to see if there'll be more feedback on the forum for this meeting... I'm still calling Saturday a tentative time, for the moment. If there's been little response by about tomorrow/early Friday, I'll reschedule for the following weekend to give a bit more lead time.
In any case, we'll definitely keep you in the loop!
Ugh. Unfortunately Saturdays are just generally bad for me unless it's in the morning or early afternoon EST.
If I can't make it, maybe I'll ask for what happened at the meeting here ![]()
Good luck!

oh well I think taking the live act to the Hotels is a great idea, but I think an even better idea is taking the live act to the Player Cities.
In fact, I'm a Master Dancer ahazi and Mayor of New Hope, Dantooine.I've been having a terrible time trying to recruit live ents for my PA.
I like being a dancer, I mean I have two characters, one Master Bounty Hunter.... but if you know the state of BH you know why I prefer my Dancer character
we have good traffic through the city and allied guilds who are interested in having events, wedding's parties, etc... We are the premier city on Dantooine, and with the improved Job Market draw in quite a few visitors. There are as many as 50 people running missions out of the city... of course at 8am on week days you're not going to have the packed cantina you have in Coronet, but in the evening guildies will be popping in and out, for buffs and heals. A Master Dancer/Master Doc would have a field day!
and I'm sure on your servers there are cities like this.... if only the cantina was full there would be no reason for anyone to leave the city!
Well I'll post my attempt to recruit elsewhere, don't want to hijack your post
, but I'm serious about this. I think taking the live act to a player city is the best way to go, own a cantina, make a business out of it, have parties, rent vendor space like chef vendors are great in there and tailors like Cantina's too the bar area makes an absolutely PERFECT vendor counter, just don't enable vocalization on the vendors and you'll be good. I dunno, I know there are ents who like the NPC cantina atmosphere with TONS of players around and the ability to spam freely, and that's cool too, but for those who want to have more control over their environment I think the player city holds the best possibilities, and besides who said you have to be there 24/7, go where the action is, and heck you can advertise your cantina in the NPC one... what's the manager gonna do, throw you out?
Just a thought

we tried it back in the beginning when i was a novice musician and hooked up with a few very good entertainers we ran rehersals and evne got a bit of a show started, unfortunately it is a lot harder with the masses of afk people, if al lthe live entertainers could get together on each server.....

A group of us actually tried this back when I was learning to dance in the Theed cantina. We left the AFKers and one live person behind to send the customers over to the theatre. We had a great time that night, but it only happened once. Both the customers and the entertainers are accustomed to working in the cantinas, and creatures of habit are hard to retrain. Customers also don't associate hotels with healing. Hotels are almost always empty, even when they're the only place to heal... look at Deeja, it's dead.
