How about a buff that causes you to grow hair on random parts of your body?

Guess what, SWG has been built on the interdependency of professions. This is the foundation of the game's design, you could say. No one character is entirely self-sufficient. This becomes especially clear if you're a combat profession: you rely on WS's for your damage output, on AS's for your protection, on Chefs for buffs, etc etc.And nobody at all has a problem with that. Or can you imagine a rifleman saying "I dont want to have to rely on a weaponsmith in game and dont think its fair that someone else can just get a high-dps rifle and do just as good as me when I worked hard to get were I am at spending over 20 million on rifle-speed and damage SEA's just so my newbie-issue CDEF has a dps of 520."(yes, that's a highly exaggerated example)
Entertainers were taken out of that loop of interdependency with the CU, which considering our skill point investment (106 points to Master - more than a WS in fact, if you don't count the admittedly helpful sampling and merchant skills) was a damn injustice and a crying shame. And now we're getting it back, which is about damn time if you ask me - took them long enough - only to get the usual jerks whining about how they don't want to rely on entertainers.Tough luck. Get over it.
Ya I apologize, went a little over the top. I have come to terms with having to go see a entertainer for different things like battle fatigue and other types of combat related things.. it is a major pain for me though since my computer is slow and the only reliable places to find entertainers are places like the theed cantina.
It usually takes me an hour or so to go in and out of the place since my computer pretty much dies on me every time I go. I could get a personal entertainer and ask someone to meet me at the cantina in a specific place and offer a large sum of money but that is a huge hastle. I remember back preCU that I wouldnt go get mind buffs cause by the time I went to coronet or theed and out to hunt my buffs would be ready to run out.
If you don't like going into Theed or Eisley, check the dancer listings (stickied here) and become friends with some of the dancers on your server

Look--I'm a Master Droid Engineer, I feel your pain. And a little more. I'm also working on SW. And merchant. I agree completely.
I do feel, however, that entertainers need a way to be extremely useful, like the pre-CU mindbuffs were. This is not the way though. I was happy with being a lower-end DE.
Yes but then, how do you make entertainers "extremely" useful? Granted, the resource quality buff is somewhat problematic, but at least it fits the description. And I think anything that fits this description would somehow negate the advantage that somebody out there had before the new buffs, leading to the obligatory complaining.
As for me, I kinda like the suggestion someone else has brought forward here: instead of affecting resource quality, let it affect resource usage. Make crafters use 10% less of their resources when inspired. That would be a much better and less controversial buff effect. But would it be "extremely useful"?
Now THAT would kick arse! I can say that it would save Shipwrights alotta good resources!

That's my fav! Hehe, make it an agro high level skin though so only MCH's can use the clone.
A buffbot would be the perfect thing to compliment the CH inspiration of preventing pets from obeying commands.

1.) I don't want to have to rely on a crafter to have protection against damage from Mobs, and I don't want to have to rely on a crafter to be able to do damage to a Mob. But guess what? I do. I need armor and weapons.
2.) I have a RL friend that used to play this game. He was a resource broker. Resources didn't used to shift like they do now. My friend found a spawn of some incredible metal and plunked as many heavies on it as he could. Not too long after, the devs decided that it wasn't fair to have the spawns stay in one place, so they invented the shifting, so that everyone would have a chance to get decent resources. He was outraged that he worked to get that spawn and had it yanked out from under him.
I pay just as much per month per account as anyone else to play this game. Why shouldn't I be good? Why should I be limited because I don't have 20 million credits worth of resources? Why should I be penalized because of random lousy resource spawns for weeks and weeks on end? There's two sides to every issue.
Comparing this buff to afk entertaining is inaccurate. The person doing the crafting still has to do the work. They still have to find or buy the resources, and they certainly can't afk craft... other than their factory runs, but everyone has that advantage. They still have to market their goods.

A lotof the best weapons in gameare quest based.

They started shifting like a week into the game and it was always intended. Your friend probably didnt know that they were planning to shift the resources aroundor didnt expect them to do so after only a week or two.

Exactly, I dont have time to run back and forth in game to get entertainer buffs all day long.. I have limited playing time.. but I do what is needed to get the most out of the game. You work your butt off trying to make good weapons but if you dont have the best stuff nobody will buy it even if you sell it for 1k credits.

They still have to set up there macro and log into the computer. Like any other analogy it is a bad one, just trying to get some people to see our side of the issue.
I'm not crazy with the buffs they have implemented but at least they aren't required. Hopefully they will bring a few people back into the cantina. Since the buffs are non-combat in nature perhaps they can stay longer and watch

Sad isn't it yet another dependency SOE is trying to destroy. Dependency is not bad it fosters multi-player. What really doesn't make sense is how they tear down so many non-combat dependencies while increasing the combat dependencies more with each patch.

Take a crafting droid and sit in the cantina. You can get your buff topped off every 2 hours. It takes a whopping 30 seconds to apply so your game delay for the first one is trivial.

I replied in the bluish color.
Most of us WS have come to grips with the 2% increase, it is better than the crazy 10% one, I guess. We really would rather be friends with the entertainer professions and feel bad for you guys/gals that your profession has turned into a having to buff people profession.
