I love the negativity in your posts. I'm sure that attitude helps you earn great tips and interact with people in a very pleasant manner. not

Anyway, maybe I got lucky. Maybe not.

I'll be on Dathomir until the Fiberplast I'm on runs out, which hopefully will be several more days. I guess we'll see whether it was a fluke or you guys are just... whatever.

In any event, thought I'd share the story of the end of the night too.

One of the guys that asked about buffs asked how much to tip me. This was right after I started the buff.

Completely in character, I explained to him that I dance for the fun of it and that I make droids to earn my living. This is a hobby for me, I'm here to dance and talk with people and to hear stories, and the stories I'd heard made me plenty happy.

And we chatted during the rest of the buff time and generally had a good time. I crack jokes while I dance and I frequently panic when large carnivores enter the cantina and ask the brave adventurers there to protect me and/or kill the baddies. It's just the character's personality.

Anyway, when I told him that he could stop watching, he tipped me 10k.

I'm sorry. I really don't think I got lucky on the night (though certainly that tip was extraordinary). I'm not trying to make big tips. I always ask not to be tipped when anyone asks how much is reasonable and customary.

I'm truly just there to dance and chat with people.

*shrug*

Maybe it's lack of effort that makes everything work out so well.

Is Rori a high end adventure planet ??

Cause I tend to see like an ave. of 14 people or so on Rori when I go there.. Rori sucks for entertaining on Bloodfin.. if I had crafting or something else to do while waiting for people to show up I might hang out in Rori but lol I i'm pure entertainer...

Not sure if your post is all about Sigurn. You ALWAYS come off so very rude and condecending to everybody here.. Or maybe it's just me that get offended by it? Please can you stop it? I for one find reading your post very disturbing, to be honest I usually stop reading half way through, becourse they usually make me wish I hadn't read them. Can't you just try and either offer just a good story without the attitude? Or some good advice?
I am not holding my breath about it, you will not change. So I think I will just stop reading your posts..

Dantooine has been really popular lately... kill 4 kungas, get 30k credits. With an efficient group (and a graul or two) you can get 100k in a hour.

If you can't see the advice in there, maybe you would be better off not reading my posts. But thanks for the sars.

The advice? Essentially quit whining and do something to fix it yourself. *shrug*

You probably won't like reading that either. Sometimes reality bites. Not my fault, but I happily accumulate the stars for communicatingit.

Sigrun, I really don't understand your posts. I don't see anyone whining about tips. I know that I interact and am happy with the amount that I make, however, I make a lot more money at our home cantina of Bestine than I have on adventure worlds (we tried it). I mostly attribute that to our sisterhood's popularity. But I think it's great that you love performing on the adventure worlds.

Keep in mind everyone has different experiences and that doesn't make them "silly" or wrong. I would venture to say that some might not make as much in Bestine as the girls and I do (I know my musician husband doesn't). Tipping is a very hard thing to exactly quantify because it depends on many different factors. The attitude and interaction is only part, it also has to do with the number of people that enter, the particular person that comes in, the mood that person happens to be in, ect. So, it's really great that you have great experiences, more power to you, but keep in mind your experience isn't everyone's. It's not necessarily that the people that disagree with you are doing the wrong thing, they could be doing everything right and get worse results.

You've made many posts in the past about how it's people's $15 dollars a month, they can play how they want to. Well, adventure planets aren't for everyone and for their $15 a month, they rather go elsewhere. That's just my two cents.

...not so much whining about tips.

...more whining about how the AFK entertainers hurt their tips.

...which seems to be complete B.S.

...but we'll see how dath goes tonight.

I guess I am a fool too, like SlickRiptide.

I went to Rori, on YOUR server Sigrun, as YOU recommended at one point. I've been there 3 nights now... 2+ hours each night. I am at keyboard all the time. I greet everyone who comes in. I RP with anyone who is willing. I heal everyone who needs it, and pretty darn fast too. I am working music now too which I am not as good at healing, and I have switched for people just so I could heal them faster.

I have not had a bad experience on Rori, but in the 6+ hours I've been there, again, on your server (Naritus), I made a grand total of maybe 6K in tips. Again this isn't awful, but it is decidedly less than I normally make in Keren (where I normally would make double that or more in the same time period).

Again, on this same server you are on, I went to Endor. I was there most of a Saturday. 2 hours in the morning. 3 in the afternoon. 2 at night with 2 friends (a musician and another dancer). I made a few K total. Decidedly less than I would've made for the same 7 or so hours in Keren, and additionally less than the amount it cost to go there.

I went to Lok. I was there for 3 hours. 50% longer than you were. I made maybe 500 total credits. Far less than I'd make in the same period in Keren.

You're right, in the sense that going to an adventure world might pay, but it also might not. You didn't do anything special, Sig... you just got lucky. Well, I've gotten lucky in Keren to. I had a guy drop 12K on me just because he needed a dancer right then and there and I happened to be sitting there crafting when he walked in.

As for Theed. I never dance in Theed. Theed is a cesspool of AFKers and powerlevellers. I don't like that atmosphere. I dance in Keren. Keren is JUST as under-served as the adventure planets. In Keren I am every bit as appreciated as I would be on Endor, and because it's on Naboo and lots of people have houses nearby, I also have a social network of folks I can RP with and talk to. Am I to give all that up, on the off chance I might get a few good tips on Dathomir?

Oh but wait. Sigrun got lucky last night on Dathomir. So maybe I should blow 8K on a round trip to Dathomir, because I might get lucky too. Right, and tomorrow I'm gonna buy a Lottery ticket. Some guy in my state won 40 million bucks on one of those a few weeks ago. That must mean if you just buy a lottery ticket, you can automatically win millions of dollars...

The reason they are in theed or coronet is because you get much better dancing/music exp in a large group, the medics go to those places for healing exp. Yeah, we could all go out and get action, quickness and stamina buffs but it just makes life harder for medics and in turn harder for newer entertainers that have less of a chance of getting buffs. Most doctors charge a fair bit for buffing people. Healing exp isnt a problem for most entertainers, its the dancing or music exp and that is much slower and you need large groups to get decent exp.

You might also go to a planet and have next to no business for hours on end, no doctor to buff you and end up with very little exp. I've had 50k tips in coronet, its not the place that is important, it is the people.

I don't think her story was negative or rude or condescendingin the least. I am happy to see someone making some kind of money with this profession. I am also happy to see someone who is enthusiastic about the profession as well.

Why does everyone have to read between lines or misread posts? Take it for what the post was... an enthusiastic story of how someone got lucky. She also said common sense stuff... nothing she said was new to any of us. She basically confirmed old news.

I really wish people would stop hiding behind these forums to personally attack other players.

I have surrendered dance on Bloodfin. I have found on that people are alot nicer on Kettemore.

Although... with your experience... I should move to Naritus. hehe.

You should! I'm on Naritus and I regularly have 50-100k nights on Dantooine and the occasional Dathomir. I've not had the same luck with Nym's Outpost on Lok, though.

Now that I'm opening my own cantina (coming Thursday) - someone will have to pick up the adventure planet slack for me!

Ouch! Take it easy!

I've found Endor, Yavin and Lok don't have the same huge payouts that Dantooine and Dathomir have, specifically on Naritus. While I haven't spent too much time on Dathomir (2-3 nights), the result was 25-30k each night. Dantooine's been the best spot for me, 15 or so days, low night was 27k, high was 116k.

Dantooine is NOT good for entertainers, the fact that I leave with less then I came with says enough. So the fighters make 30k for 4 kills, then why do they tip me nothing at all or the small tip you get once every 3 hours ?
