For the ultimate in AFK gaming pleasure, I present to you "ProgressQuest". This is a must have for anybody who likes to advance their character with no time investment whatsoever! You can even have it run in the background while you play SWG!

Mirella confirmed what I believe is worst part of AFKing entertainers... they steal EXP, tips, and overall gaming pleasure from players who want to be in the profession..

If there is one online player in a cantina... the AFKer should be on auto "/denyservice" for whole cantina. That way customers would HAVE to play with real dancers online...

If a novice shows up in Endor... even the AFK master wouldn't get healing exp...

Of course the gamers who like AFKing dancers may not tip her, but she will still progress.

I personally like the idea of having an NPC 'Bouncer' in every cantina that will allow the AFKer to stay if she pays a bribe that increases exponentially each time he demands it.... when she cant pay, then the bouncer bans her from bar for a Real timemonth. (Killing her would be a nice touch too..hehe.)

Can't speak for the rest of the profession, but I want to dance in the 'out of the way' places.

Early on in the game, I went to Dathomir to hunt with a few friends. But when I arrived there was no entertainer around and all the combat folk there were suffering from very bad mind wounds and BF. So I gave up my chance to hunt and went to dance for them instead.

I didn't get any tips to speak of (at that stage I don't think many people had realised that it's good practice to tip your entertainer) but I really loved being useful. I really made a difference. It sounds very egotistical, but I have to say I enjoyed being centre of attention. But most of all...I felt needed. I felt I had some real purpose.

When I reached Master Dancer and no longer needed to hang out with the big groups in the busy cantinas, I decided to go back to the 'remote places'. Guess what? Yep, they're all occupied by AFK entertainers. There didn't seem to be any point me being there.

Now, I'm not going to join in with thediscussion of why they're there in the first place...but I am pointing out that there are probablyquite a few live dancerslike me who would happily go dance in these places if we felt we were needed.

2c from a non-entertainer...

When I go into a cantina looking to heal my BF, I just want an entertainer. I don't care if s/he is sitting at the keyboard or on the dark side of the moon... I just want my BF healed.

So if the only person there is an AFK entertainer, I'm glad to see 'em just the same. And I tip them, too. Not as much as I might tip an entertainer who chats me up, but I'm getting a service from the AFK person and I pay for it.

Am I upset because entertainers can get XP for AFK macros? Heck no. More power to 'em, as long as they're there for those who need their services.

JMHO.

I'd like to point out something really quick:

Time to get master dancer(with afk macroing) for me: 9 days

Time to get master tailor for me: 11 days

Now for me, if you took away afk macroing it would probably take me 18-20 days toget master dancer. I probably spend about8 hours a day not macroing. Personally I like the afk macroers as long as they are in the entertainer group so they do not steal xp.

Also I would like to point out that the (afk) flag doesnt mean anything. I have seen a master dancer who would not join the entertainer group macro all day and not go (afk).

All you people saying you want something like the survey pop up. Do you realize that the pop up window does not stop afk surveying?

Took my first trip to Dathomir yesterday. I figured I'd travel a bit and heal anyone that needed healing. So I wandered around the outpost area a bit and only saw one or two people around and they were running off into the wild. Not wanting to dance with myself in an empty cantina, I went out the front gate down to the stream and pulled out my fishing rod. Rebeeka (Master Dancer) then spent the next couple of hours fishing. I caught quite a few fish which are now hanging on my wall in my house. I certainly wasn't hiding since on several occasions I was screaming at the "stupid fish" (ok, yes, I was bored enough to RP to a bunch of virtual fish). I even had a couple people run right by me and jump in the water; however, the whole time I was there not one person bothered to stop and talk to me. You would think the sight of a Rodian Master Dancer fishing in a stream on Dathomir alone would be piqued someones curiosity. I guess when you see people run by with pet Rancors named Pookie (which I did see), I'm not that unusual after all.

As an aside: I was talking to a RL friend of mine who has been doing some surveying. He has already figured out how to get around the surveying popup box and macro survey. So if you think the solution to AFK dancers is to have a popup, evidently it isn't hard to get around.

-First: Why do you care if someone else get there exp "legit" or "Afk". it doesnt make any sense, stop worrying about me, If I don't want to take the time to meander through the crappy unfixed dances to get to the seductive dances, so that I may beat off while watching then leave me alone...I am not hurting you in any way, nor am I hindering your advencment. hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha

*Me so horny! Me love you long time*

-Second: Tips, you arnt getting any becuase you suck,I get them all the time, when i am afk when i am not afk, sometimes they know I'm not there and some times they don't, but i still get tips. But I am not dancing for the tips, I am dancing for the exp, you want money pick up a combat skill and kill things like the rest of us. In anycase they dont tip alot anymore becuase SWG is becoming politicly correct and we arnt being able to rolepay in a roleplaying game anymore, here is an example......."say that to me again and I will /denyservice you!"..."but you are a dirty whore" well this wasnt said to me, but lets just examine this,1.this is justa game and both parties need to chill, 2. You are dancing in a (most of the time) seedy bar with the denizens of the universe. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its called real life not everything in this world or the real one is peaches and cream, not everyone is going to be a janet jackson or a j-lo, most dancers are going to be bottom feeders.

-Third: I would have to say from experience that about 60-75% of Female Dancers Toons are guys....I am one myself and it is for a second account to fill up points and so that i could buy my female Toon sexy clothing and she could dance eroticly(which why in the hell are allfour erotic dances at DK 4 and master, not every erotic dancer is a choreographer, that is just plain crazy.)

Well have fun dancing I will dance afk as long as it is possible, I pay my 15$ a month just as you do, so stop you're "b*i*t*c*h*ing"!

Might I point out that in point 1 you are claiming you should be able to AFK macro a dancer, and in point 2 you are telling people they should roleplay? Why don't you try applying point 2 to point 1 sometime.

ohh, ohh, I know all the proffesions should have exp caps, like merchant, you can only gain so much exp per hour whether you are there or not......

Wait, it is like that, you only get "x" exp per 10 seconds. and you need like 1200000exp to be a master that would be like 953 hours (at 35exp average) or 39 days or 6 weeks. Not counting the slow Entertainment healing exp....which depends on people watching you, so if you want people to watch you instead of my afk a$$ talk to them, flirt with them, be the dancer, because if i was in a bar and i had a choise between two women dancing..One was void of emotion and didnt look at or say anything(afk) and One was there but not talking to or even looking at me(stuck up SWG dancer) i think most people are with me on the go with the afk, atleast she wont call you ugly or tell you your stupid...hmmmm. And no this isnt my life I am talking about i am happily married and have a great family, but after all this is a game if i get my fun playing one way dont get my way removed becuase you think a different way then I.

So now that I have surrendered all my dance and entertainment skills, i walked into the cantina last night needing some healing.

There are 3 musicians, no dancers (dancers have been scarce lately - odd). No one greets me. There is one musician in there saying "heal please". I don't think this guy has moved since the night before. I had tipped him the night before because he had asked someone for training. But now I don't think I will ever tip again unless they actually interact with me or are interacting with others.

He obviously has a macro set up to ask for a heal every minute or two. how annoying. Anyway, so I say "whoever greets me first, gets the tip." Thankfully one person responded to me. She was new, but I watched her even though the macro guy had better healing skills. I gave her some entertaining advice. SHe was very nice. She got my tip.

I am kind of sick of these macroers who make it look like they are there, but are now. They make emotes like "lamer smiles" "lamer winks"! Ugh!

I guess everyone is macroing their way to the top so that they can do the mind buffs. I will remember though who actually worked for it, and who didn't, and tip accordingly when the time comes.
