I'm choosing to remain skeptical until I actually see a change. But I'll be one of the happiest entertainers on Eclipse if they do finally resolve the AFK macroing issue.
It came from Taurin, but it was about a month ago. Anyway, I've heard (and been a part of) a lot of optimism with little result in the past. I understand their position, though, that with 36 full professions and only a limited number of designers and architects to go around some things take priority and leave the rest to wait. I meant that I'mholding back any enthusiasmuntil I actually see some change. Less let-downif it gets put on the backburner again. 
Ravenmist and NewJedi (the musician correspondent) have been wonderful about letting us know what's going on. They can't always tell us everything, but that's ok. The message we're getting is that SOE realizes the damage AFK macroing is doing to the game and they're going to do something to either discourage it or put a complete stop to it.
I didn't realize the info came from Ravenmist or NewJedi (both of which I feel are doing an excellent job, by the way). I haven't been able to keep up with all of the posts--my bad.
Anyway, this is great news that they're serious about resolving the issue! I've been burnedtoo many times by AFK macro madness.
I am a huge AFK hater... I just cant help it. I kick them from groups, park my Ronto on them, do whatever I can to belittle thier lazy butts.
I have given up most of Dance, kept Pop2 cause I hate the looks of Spazlock. I dance for the social aspect only since my exp is capped right now. I earn more tips being silly and having fun than a lot of the Bots with much higher skills. I earn a lot of tips making fun of the AFKers, especially the ones with stupid "tip hat" or "blow kiss" macros. I am amazed that these folks seem oblivious to the low opinion most people have of them and I capitalize on it.
LOL it's hugely funny that I can put on a brown healers robe, announce that I am doing the Jawa Bug Stomping Dance (footloose) with silly commentaryand pull in more interaction and tips than a Master AFKer doing exotic while outfitted in the manditory fleshwrap.
Since I have other skills and money now Dance exp and tips are far less important to me. Its funny that I make more tips and have more fun now than I did when exp and tips mattered.
I dont know what these exp grinding bots hope for at Master. They can't entertain, they learned nothing and Master level for them has to be a huge disappointment in that they never tried or learned to have fun while getting there.

DaraShaku Sweety, not everything is what it seems. Last night one of the 2 musicians, that was playing with us during the weekend, ruined my entire evening, he went afk a few times and I kicked him once for it and invited him when he came back. Then I had a argument with another group member in group chat about afk entertaining and we both agreed that we don't like them and they are bad for business.
This musician was aware of our thoughts but still decided to go afk and I only realised he went AFK when another musician started to explain to him how to logout, it was the musician's wife, he had left for work, without a single word, without a goodbye or thank you for the group invite.
Last night I found out 3 of my "friends" do the AFK macro thing and now I am going to look for another cantina because of them 
Sad really, this happened 20 minutes after I paid for another dancer's novice dancer training in view of her teaching me that skill sometime this week, I will have o find another teacher somewhere
Oh sweety, the mastermusician from my previous post had a droid called TIP THE BAND !
I think I'm going back to Mos Espa where I started, i'll miss the AT keyboard entertainers and the regular customers from Mos Eisley alot though
