Same for Tarquinas... if you want a live entertainer, you skip Coronet and hit up Theed.

My regular habit is to walk into the cantina - usually Theed - and wait for just a few moments to see if someone greets me in any manner. If they don't, then I move to the side and heal my own mind wounds and BF and then spend some time greeting people as they come in. Usually after a few moments I suddenly get an invite. It's not that they aren't ATK, it's that they don't take the time to let people know they are really there. No idea why they are pretending to be robots but as long as they do I'll continue to deny them the healing XP for my mind wounds - which are often substantial - nor will I be tipping them.I can also tell you that a large portion of my time is no longer spent in the cantina as I must run missions to make enough money to pay maintenance on my cantina and to keep buying buffs/buff drinks. I'm certain I'm not the only entertainer who can't dedicate as much time to entertaining any more since fewer players tip.Ikewe, Master Dancer Shadowfire
I try to greet most who come in, but sometimes I don't catch everyone, but it's not because I'm just sitting there seeming robot-like. I'll only not greet someone if I'm already having a conversation (or likely several) in spatial.. for one, it seems possibly rude to interrupt my conversation to say hi to someone else - I'm not going to be able to give my full attention to both parties, so it's not fair to pretend I can. And also, I figure if I'm chatting it up in spatial, they'll know I'm not AFK
Granted, this isn't what you're complaining about, but it's something I was feeling kind of weird about lately, so I thought I'd post about it.

Hm.
I actually tend to not greet people I don't know because too often I've been ignored or told to shut up.
So, I let quiet be the "default," and talk to people I either know and who've been in before and I know wont' mind me saying hi, or people who say something first.
Even that way I've still been burned with being telling me to leave them alone.

Yah, I've noticed that too where people don't seem to greet patrons anymore. I'm an old school dancer from the beginning of launch, and I don't think I could dance anywhere in public without greeting people and talking up a storm - its just an old habit. Well, if it helps, I'll encourage the atk dancers that I see to do this more, as quite a few of the entertainers coming through now are the "next generation" and most are not aware of so many of the important aspects of entertaining or even some of theneat tricks!! (Good gawd!! How many timeshave I shown people what a /bandflo is??) Besides, greeting people helps grab the attention of the customers away from the buffbot, or so we hope**winks**!!

The other night a dancer was instructing a new player on how to set up a begging macro in the group chat - over my protests of course. Fortunately, the guy seemed to take my advise to heart because he didn't start spamming for tips and heals. At least not that evening . . . . Perhaps having Shailas come in and offer some musician to musician assistance and provide a visable example of how to act as a live performer helped, as well. Other than asmall handfulof us, most of the "ents" in the ME cantina on Chilastra are mute except for their begging spam - even the ones that are live.

Hello to one of my favorite entertainers of all time! Miss ya, where ya been?
I'm going to have to check out that entertainer chat thing. I always come back from hunts with mega mind wounds from mind healing. I'd rather the xp go to someone who deserves it.
Hope to see you again soon, Anoewyn! Send me a mail or message sometime!

I too greet everyone that comes in, or at least try. But maybe like 1 out of every 20 might acknowledge my presence. Im at the keyboard alot and try to socialize and learn the social emotes by using them, but no one wants to talk. I dont care about the tips, I can hunt. I dont care about the heals, I can sit. BUT please socialize so I dont have a reason to just afk the game. I think both sides can have a valid reason to grief, so we just got to learn ways to interact better with those atk and afk, social or non
