Let me start by saying that I love the idea, well ANY idea for something for our hurting profession. There are many little things that I would suggest. PLease do not take it as criticism, but rather tweaks that would make it better.
Firstly I would not want another series of "get X number of people to listen to you" quests. I didn't like them in the original helper droids, and don't like those elements in the Theatre Manager quests either. The new newbie entertainer missions in Mos Eisley are more what I would like to see. The TM quest only really has 2 types of missions...get people to listen or play what someone wants to hear. Neither is that inventive.
I would suggest a variety of missions. Some that require a group or a specific configuration of instruments (this would necessitate a number of players and/or droids) instead of just songs because song can always be soloed.
To sidetrack a bit, the TM quest is not a "Master" quest. The performances never ask for a song or dance that you cannot play, and though it may be easier at Master, it can be done at Novice Musician (possibly lower) and the reward is able to be used at 0010 Music (or 1000) and only requires Novice Entertainer to continue to use.
As to "remote locations", I would suggest that if you want remote...make it REALLY remote. Any place with a starport (except Kashyyyk) is not remote at all. However, places like Anchorhead that have a shuttle, but no starport are better. Even better would be Wayfar. Then of course there are all the random POI locations that could use entertainment: Jabba's, Imp and Rebel bases, etc...
Back to missions.....I'd suggest things like this:
- Missions of the existing types to start or variants like "audition for Valarian", but you get no hints unless you talk to her guards and staff who give you ideas or even a series of finding former performers to get info from them. Some you may need to bribe, or booze up, or run a mission for to get the info.
- Missions that require a specific number of instruments or configuration of instruments.
- Missions that require specific songs or a flo sequence.
- Missions that require a specific effect or effects.
- Missions that require you to get past an audition to get a gig where you then listen in to conversations (in specific languages maybe) to get information.
- Maybe some of these are factional to get us a place in the GCW.
As to the reward being a rug, well I always like rugs (I have many). Formatted for the stairs would be more trouble than its worth. There is no easy way that that could be done, plus some of us do not own a cantina and then it would be useless if it had the stairs built in. To have it fit the stairs, the rug would need to be a 3D object and if not on the stairs, one would be walking through it.
As to looking at the same carpet in every player cantina, there should be a "decor" terminal in buildings that allows some changes to the building itself such as carpet color, lighting levels, wall colors and such. For the major changes, there should be a cost and/or require an architect of some level to do them. We have paint kits for droids, speeders and spaceships....how bout walls.
Lets keep the two separate though, lets get missions better with many arcs of quests with various rewards both general and factional. Then lets get more control to decor through both rewards and better controls.

Why not a galactic tour to reunite the [Insert made up famous band] where you have to locate the members for an agent from clues around the galaxy by speaking to cantina residents such as the modal nodes in eisley, wuher, Max rebo and band at jabbas, maybe oola and some other NPC's spread around the galaxy.
Once you assemble the clues to find where the missing members are you take the evidence back to the trainer who is an old fan and he gives you a special [Insert made up famous band] rug for musicians and a special clothing item for dancers which works like the SE goggles in that you cannot trade em but they have a colour option (as most dancers are finicky and change their colour alot).
I kinda like this idea especially if you generalize it a bit more. The target wouldn't have to be a band. It could be any type of person or group. (Though a band is more apropos to our profession.) There's no reason to limit the NPC's to just being in cantinas, they could be anywhere in a city like maybe in a hotel, or in a med center, or some shady character hiding out in some alley. Another possibility could be that we'd have to spend some time entertaining in some place to wait for (spawn) our next contact. The clues themselves could be specific like "I last saw so-and-so performing at the Lucky Despot." or more general like "I think I heard so-and-so was working at some hospital on Corellia." I think there could be some interesting ways you could take a concept like this.
In any case I'm all for some type of quests that we can do to get items that would be useful to us!

I'll add my vote!
I was saying over the weekend in guildchat that there aren't nearly enough quests for low CL chars on the scale of the Kashyyyk or Syren quests. However it would have to be borne in mind that a CL1 one can get slain by a womprat, so Yavin and Endor would be quite a hazardous swoop ride.
