Thread: How long should a Master Dancer take to LEGALLY buff someone with the 2 min watching time?

Whats this "overflo" method out of interest? I always flourished every 2 seconds anyway (2*100 = 200 seconds, 3:20) simply because I was sure it would work as opposed to getting it lower.

Is this overflo method just flourishing 5 times one after each other without a pause?

Theoretically if you flourished every second you would full buff in 1:40 (100 seconds/100 flourishes), but since theres a 2 minute minimum you'd have to carry on for another 20 seconds anyway. But still, full buff in 2 min should be possible shouldn't it?

Yes, apparently there is a 2 minute buff technique. I know what it's supposed to involve, though I haven't actually tried it myself nor have I seen the macro for it. It would burn the action bar pretty fast though. I don't know if it's an intentional game mechanic or not - I suspect not, so it may be subject to nerfage in the near future.

I use the 3:20 buff and its anything but ugly with E3. Its a very simple 2 flo macro and thepatron "sees" 1 out of every threemoves. I've asked many of my patrons about the look of the dance and they allsaid it looks normal and lovely.

Kirah do you think you could post the flo/pause combination that you use? I always buff with exotic3 also. I'm intrigued by this thought that you could string five flourishes together and then have an 8 second pause. Or does that only work with music?

My current buff macro is something like:

/flo 1;
/pause 1;
/flo 2;
/pause 1;
/flo 3;
/pause 1;
/flo 4;
/pause 1;

And I run it for four minutes. I also have a version with all "/pause 2" instead of "/pause 1" and I run that for five minutes. But I only use that when I'm out of accarragm and I don't have a sta/qui buff myself.

I would guess the two moves you're using are either flo 1 & 2 or flo 1 & 3?

Hmm... the turn doesn't screw things up with ex3?

The only times I've seen people macroing it it's looked like crap to me, but I suppose with non-stop flouishing the turn wouldn't have time to "take off," so that wouldn't matter and it would look fine. Of course I'm pretty picky and an anti-macro-for-non-buffing purist snob, anyway.

I been buffing with pop2, popl2 and footloose lately, for variety, 3:30 of sets of 5 flourishes every 8 seconds. I am plannning on setting up a "2 min announce" buff macro for raids/base defense that just says "It's been 2 minutes!" every 2 minutes, so people can get their minimum buff and get back to fighting...it'll be interesting (to me at least) to see what length of buff I can cram into that 2 minute window. If I strike gold I'll get back to you all on it.

Hello ... thought I'd jump in on this. I'm basically repeating what some folks have already saidbut I am a master dancer / musician and can apply the max buff in 3min20sec. I set up my dance macro forex4 andflourish every 2 seconds. Ihave another one totargetmy client (hehe) then to send me a private tell 200 seconds later that it's done. Some call this lazy, I call it a great opportunity to 'RP'. I can't talk to the patrons if I'm controlling my flourishes. I thought it wouldlook ugly but I only use f1 and f2. It's not too bad.

Same for musician; top songs, top instruments. Now that's fun!!!

I love to RP but heyif it gets themout faster, I'm all for it. I think we'll get more folks coming back to us if we all start to apply the buffs this way. Oh, and like others have stated,action is key!!!Options: Stat Migration, See a Chefand/orget a Entertainer Buff from your friendly neighborhood doctor.

/cheers Entertainers

We will get our cantinas back ONE day!!! WooHoo

P.S. Tested the 2 minute buff; doubled their stats but for only 1hr15min. I hear there is food we can eat but I've yet to test that.

It's not intended... I'm guessing it will get fixed at some point... I don't think anyone will get in trouble using it. I've asked many times and the response has been mild. *shrug* Just be careful not to hurt the other Dancers you are teamed with if you do use it.

The 3:20 is intended and is the fastest you can perform a full buff even without pauses by normal means. Check out the FAQs sticky for a link to Tiaga's Hard Numbers Post which breaks it all down.
