Ooh, I think I figured out what I was confused about.
So here's my "everything I know about the entertainer healing xp spike bug, that I learned over time from reading the forums, and mostly from Tiaga" post.
Background info:
When entertaining, you 'entertain' yourself. Meaning if you're a dancer, you're watching yourself, and if you're a musician, you're listening to yourself. This is a game mechanic that as far as I can tell is there so that we can heal our own mind wounds and BF.
What triggers the bug, and what the bug really is:
When the last person (not including yourself) who is watching you does a /stopwatch command (pretty sure it doesn't happen if they stop watching through the radial or from moving far away), you stop watching yourself as well. This also happens with musicians with the /stoplisten command, but we got a workaround where we automatically start listening to ourselves within a few seconds if we've stopped listening to ourselves (if you ever notice the music stop and then restart from the intro riff, this is what's happening). The dancers do *not* have code to start re-watching themselves, which leads to the next question.
What makes me get the spike in xp?
Apparently, you can only receive entertainer healing xp while you're being watched or listened to. Which means that for however long it's been since someone did a /stopwatch, you will not be getting any of the xp (though you probably don't notice because you could just assume that no one's being healed at the moment). However, you could still be 'earning' xp through your group members, in that while they are being watched or listened to, you still are being assigned your share of the healing xp, you're just not getting it. This xp builds up over time, until finally someone starts watching you (specifically you, not someone in your group), and you actually get all the xp that you've been earning and that has been building up. This is the xp spike.
Um, so yeah, that's basically all I have. I think you can possibly un-bug yourself by doing a /watch self, or just ask someone to watch you. There are others that have more knowledge about this than I, I'm just good at gathering and remembering information.
This is actually a bit different than what I have read that people are doing. I'll run a test with just myself solo dancing to test out the validity of it.
