What's with all of you crazy people that simply /addignore the spammers....
I tend to take my cursor, highlight them, and choose that fun little "Remove from Group" option
They don't need the xp, and I wouldn't want their help in mastering. They make us look....well.....terrible.

Yeah, the LFG command is underutilized. Mostly, I think, because people just don't know what it means or misinterpret it.
Personally, I find it more immersive to walk into a cantina and say, "Can I jam with you guys?"rather than just typing /lfg and standing around.
Then again, /lfg and standing around is preferable to barking "Invite plz" every 2 seconds until someone invites them to shut them up.

The big problem with LFG in SWG is...
What kind of group? Entertainer group? Combat group? PvP group? Space group? Solo group? Buff group?
In other games it's more useful.. If someone is LFG they want to go kill things. In SWG that may not be the case. If someone is dancing and LFG it may be likely it is an entertainer group, but maybe they are just passing time waiting for their friends.

I don't think that's a problem.
If I was waiting for friends, I wouldn't mark myself lfg. May it be that I am dancing in a cantina, or that I am hanging around at Dathomir System Empires blockade jump point, looking to help someone from out alliance pilot chat.
It is a problem the other way around though. When I am dancing in the cantina I frequently get invited even if I don't want to be grouped. I really don't like that.
Off course you must watch out a bit. I you were looking for a non-solo group around Coronet Starport you would still have to stand and shout because most people want solo groups and that would be the most logical assumption when you see someone marked lfg in front of a starport.
It it doesn't take much time to ask someone if (s)he wants group or type "/exa whoever".

You could do both - that might very well help the community as whole.

In my experience, most of the people walking into the cantina with the LFG tag aren't looking to get into the entertainer group. They are looking for a combat/hunting group.A few times, if I didn't actually "ask" them first before inviting them I ended upinviting some guy who ran off to get higher missions afterwards.

Too bad that doesn't work if they are "Out of Range."
