So far the best place I found for making tips as a male dancer has been wayfar, near jabba the hutt's palace. Lot's of folks trying to get into the palace and doing hutt missions. Entertainers are rare due to the remote location so they are always welcome male or female. It's also cool to do some hutt missions as well. I'v made it into Jabba's throne room.

I was dissapointed that I could not heal mind wounds there since it looks and sounds just like a cantina and by the time you get into it you really do need healing.

PS If someone complains about my dance being 'uncomfortable' for them to watch I simply remove more clothing to make myself more comfortable. :-)

Heh.. I was actually just out in Wayfar this weekend.. It was the most crowded cantina type place on my server yesterday I think.

I play a Rodian dancer, so I can somewhat empathize with your experiences as a male dancer. (I also created a male twilek dancer on another server, to play as a fun character with friends.) While my Rodian hasn't received any outright abuse, I have had a much harder path because the majority of people don't tip you unless you're a fleshwrapped human/twilek chick with the boob-slider maxed.
My male twilek dancer has received quite a bit of abuse, and random homophobic gay bashing. Fortunately for me, because I was among friends (and another male twilek dancer) we roleplayed to combat the abuse we received.

Occasionally, however, I will receive a very large tip or compliment from someone who appreciates my character design, or that I would BE a Rodian girl, or male dancer. I believe I was the first Rodian girl character on Eclipse; at least on Tatooine.

While it's frustrating to deal with the lowest common denominator that insults, and ignores a truly original character, because it's not the LCD... I play for the few that DO appreciate where I'm coming from.

I couldn't agree more with you on the clothing issue. There should definitely be more clothes available. At the moment, most of the male dancers (well, the few that exist) pretty much look the same. I certainly hope more clothing is available in the future - for both genders. If you take a closer look at the female clothing, there area not that many available either, but more than male clothing anyways. Like one very nice entertainer I recently met said, "it's basically just mix & match". The more different combinations you try, the morestylishoutfits you're likely to find.

About the different dances. I personally don't have any pressure doing dances that are meant for 'females only', yet I see your point. There should definitely be more variety amongst both, the dances and the flourishes. I heard they're working on that, though.Just try to remember, it's just a game and the point is to have fun. Express yourself. If you feel like dancing exotic, then do so.

One more thing, about the homophobic people and other 'idiots'. Are there really a lot of such people out there? Although the saying "it's what you make out of it" is quite true, the people also affect the gameplay a lot, especially in an entertaining profession. I've been quite lucky so far, met some really nice fellow entertainers and even a few ladies have been amazed that a male is actually dancing. Hell, I even get some really nice tips from some female gunslingers - guess they like having some diversity amongst the dancers. Not a single time have I heard anyone insult me. Of course there's all kinds of jokes in groupchat, but that's a completely different thing. I'd like to get some comments on this one though. Do you meet rude people often and how do you deal with them?

That's all I have to say, I guess. Congratulations for getting Master Dancer. I'm not too far away anymore either. :]

I agree totally. Don't let what people say get you down, the only thing that matters is that you like being a male dancer! The game is supposed to be about what you want to do. If you want to be a male transhodan who does exotic all day, go for it heh. When I was working up to master entertainer, I had tons of homophobic players bug me while dancing. Being a master image designer doesn't really help with that either

On another note, males really really really need more clothing options. I mean, you can put together some nice outfits, and even the default wifebeater can look good when combined with some nice pants, but there's nothing that's really "out there" like the female gauze outfits and biknis.

I've been showing around the outfit I made with the bikini leggings/vest, and I've met with absolutely no negative response from the ladies. The guys usually respond with "Guys can wear that???". In fact, quite a few ladies have commented that the leggings look better on me than on them. The trick is get a very dark color with them. Wear it with a vest and a heavy crystal necklace (Forget the exact name) and you get a very genie looking outfit.

Have you tried an infiltrator suit with matching gloves, footwear, and a belt? I'm only dancing enough to work my way to Master Entertainer, but when I am doing that in the cantina, I switch to a black infiltrator suit, with black gloves, boots, and a belt and put my lekku behind my back. Overall, with my character's dark green skin, itgoes really well with the outfit and I think it would look better than theshorts (I know it does on me). My personal reasoning is, a male Twi'lek might want to putemphasis on the lithe andmuscular dancer's body he's developed, instead of just showing off his skin.

Excellent post. Keep on dancing lol. As an ex dancer myself, I had something happen, which in the end I only started dancing for my particular group.I stopped dancing in the cantinas for good.I am male playing a female. I didn't flirt and was always polite. I knew that flirting could get you into trouble as a male playing female so I didn't do it. There is more to the story, but I will not go into that here.

I understand your pain so to speak, because for some reason the dancer profession has unseen rules that are not publicised by players. Basically, if you are perceived as threatening the male killing field, you will run into some sort of trouble. This is what I can say from the male point of view. As for the commentsby your female friends, obviously there is some other unwritten rule also.

Problem is, many people are taking the game a little to seriously I would think. Myself included as I look back lol.

Anyway, Keep on dancing and have fun.
