Thread: Entertainer Quests on TC

A friend and I are trying them out on TC2. We've actually had a lot of fun with them! However, we got kind of frustrated last night.
Me: I'm doing the dance quests. I was on the second stage performance for the "audience" and they asked me to do Formal2. So I was, and you know how formal and formal2 make you drift all over the place. Well...I started in the center of the stage but near the end I stepped on the red "carpet" border that's on the edge of the stage - I did not get offstage, mind you, just stepped a millimeter off the tile. I got a "FAILURE: you left the stage during the performance" message. 
I bugged it. Will try again today.

He got all the way to the third audience session, and was doing a bang-up job (he said his audience satisfaction rating was nearing 300) and then suddenly he got a "FAILURE: you fail to satisfy the audience." We honestly couldn't figure out why, since he was doing both songs and flourishes they said they wanted. That made me think that maybe the ending of the quests is still bugged.
Anyway, we'll be trying it again today, hopefully.

formal2? You mean Lyrical? Or is there a new formal dance on TC?

No, she means formal 2 from Master Entertainer.
Also, my audience approval was 366 when I got flunked by the system
!!!They really need to reduce the time until you can try again... 24 hours=BAD FOR TESTING!!!

OK update.
I had one character who failed a step yesterday at 12:08. Today I logged on that character and spoke to the manager to re-do that step at 14:24. Obviously more than 24 hours later. However, she still wouldn't let me attempt it.
Bugged? Just a product of the flakey TC2 environment? Unknown.

That is really strange. I was doing the third music quest on TC2 yesterday, and as soon as I hit 100 satisfaction rating it gave me the succeed message. I hadn't even gotten to the audience members that were requesting song and flourish (I didn't know they were out there) so I just started up starwars1 on Mandoviol, flourished a lot, and ran a ton ofspecial effects. At aboutthe 80 rating, I switched to ceremonial and continued in the same manner until it gave me the succeedline.
I picked up the second "Get people to listen" mission, but haven't started on it yet. I was getting system messages telling me who and how many more I needed to listen on the first one.
It seems odd that the system seems so hit-or-miss. It'd be nice if they'd tell us the basic premise of how it should work. Might make testing it a bit easier...

You need to find live players to watch you? If so, how many? Or is it an NPC audience?
I can't imagine getting 10 or more actual players tosit and watch me(unless they're paid big credits).

So devs,would you like your quest actually tested? Or not? Because let me assure you, just so soooo many people are running to TC2 to test this.
I'm not sure why you are failing. I've also asked to be allowed to skip the 24 hour wait restriction, so far no one has had time to help me. Technically, we're only supposed to be testing this on TC I think because we're not actually part of the publish being tested on TC2. Testing can be frustrating, but this is pretty much always how this has been done. TC2 is moving towards a more convenient testing, but doesn't have any of the Social Structure benefit from TC.
The quests have been completed by quite a few of us already. Mostly on TC, but also on TC2 I think. They change fairly often though and have not become stable yet.
Where ever you do the testing, just do the best you can and bug anything that gets in your way.

Yes, it's very frustrating. When I finally got to try my step again (the one where I supposedly "left the stage" even though I didn't), I did the dance people wanted as well as the flourish, and threw in other flourishes and a ton of lighting effects.
My satisfaction rating was going up, yet I still failed. Where was that guide/spoilers that someone posted again?
Where was that guide/spoilers that someone posted again? Also, I noticed something on TC2 and bugged it, no idea if this happens on live servers or not. I had master dancer/master entertainer/master ID/4040 musician. I dropped all of the musician and master entertainer, as well as the music line in entertainer. When I did this, it removed spotlight, colored lights, and dazzle from my list of abilities. As you know, these are special effects that both musicians and dancers have. Since I'm still a master dancer, I should still have them. However, I cannot do them with a slash command (I get the message "you do not have sufficient abilities to x") and I cannot do them with a macro. I cannot re-add them to my toolbar because they are now completely gone from my command browser.
Relogging did not help this problem. I hope that maybe server reset will solve it, and will check when I log in again today. Boy that would suck on live though - imagine you're a master dancer/master musician. You drop one of them, and lose half your special effect abilities!

I was working on this before I left for my vacation... and was stuck on the audience audition thing. I figured I'll grab some friends and get them to talk to the audience for me. I've heard about what I need to do to get decent rating, and it seems awful silly

if you don't like the fact that you don't get a reward yet for completing the quest on TC, then DON'T DO IT!
panthu's not forcing people to go onto TC to test it. that's why it's called testing... you don't always get something back. it happens.

If it's already been tested to non-reward completion on either and both of the TC's (as evidenced by this thread) why are people being asked to go test it?
edit: You're right Pappi. I'm sorry. I won't be testing anymore. I'll stick to testing on live.
