I can't possibly see what other exploits could of happen before the 15 second delay

They could of made it two seconds, that would still stop 30 second buffs,

Here's why I completely support the 15 second change.

About 5 days before the 15 second change went into effect, it became common practice for the entire group in the coronet cantina to stop/start dancing and playing music 23/7. They did this because it quadrupled the amount of experience they received. I don't personally care if they got a lot of experience. But, what bugged the heck out of me was that if I wanted to listen to them and keep my system messages on (which should absolutely be my choice), I was bombarded with CONSTANT NEVERENDING stop and start music spam system messages. It was impossible to do anything or carry on a conversation and be immersed in the environment the devs provided for us. I should *not* have to be forced to turn off my system message or not enjoy the ingame music because an entire group full of goobs care about nothing but exploiting the system.

Like I said, I didn't care if they got the quadruple experience, I didn't care of they did the speed buff. What I cared about was how they ruined *my* gameplay without any thought or consideration. So, until the devs can figure out a way to stop the quadruple experience effects of the speedbuff macro, thereby rendering it useless with no good reason for people to stop/start spam anymore, they *need* to keep the 15 second delay in for the sanity of the people who want to actually play this game with full immersiveness. Because believe me, this had only just begun. It would have spread to every cantina on every server. I'm *incredibly* thankful that the devs implemented this when they did and people didn't discover the quadruple experience exploit a lot sooner than they had. Otherwise, I would have had to deal with months of that BS.

Don't get me wrong...I would love to see the 15 second delay gone. But, it absolutely cannot be done until the quadruple experience exploit is dealt with.

the 15 seconds has really hurt performances for my band and some songs with instrument changes had to be totally revamped.

and that doesnt even count the startband bug.

i dont care about the buff length. it can be long/short doesnt matter

the 15 secs needs to go and NOW.

I was wondering if anyone else had figured out the disappearing act. I had a performance I did it at the end of.. But that macro won't work anymore cause it is too short a delay between the end of the dance and the smoke to disappear in.

I was actually talking to Dave White (who worked on the buff system) while at Fan Fest. It sounds like buffing isn't very pretty code, and seriously needs a rewrite. From talking to him, I get the impression that we won't see even minor changes to buffing before the core system it's built on is fixed. And as long as that is the case, the 15 second delay will remain.

Eventually you'll just give up and turn off the ratings.

And it probably isn't anyone from this forum either. The one-star bandit strikes everywhere, just looking for posts to hit. It happens on all of the forums.

I don't have those stupid stars on, Blamj. I don't care about them and with them off I can't be affected by them (its one way the griefers don't get control by being ignored). They allow forfar toomuch griefing and SOE should know that and get rid of the option altogether . . .
