I have found footlose flourish 1 and rhythmic flourish 1to work very well with an axe.People are often scared of the footloose flourish 1 axe combination, which is why it's so entertaining. There is something almost amazonian about it. Lumberjack/tribal outfits work well with this dance. Range weapons work well with rhythmic flourish 2 and 3, as well as almost all the basic flourishes. The disco points and head wipes of the first few basic flourishes look like they were designed for the pistol. After all, what's the point in pointing without a pistol?

"I also occasionally point out that one of the most Frightening sights in the world to most guys is a woman with a BIG knife in her hand and a smile on her face. Laugh!"

Too bad we don't have scissors to work with....

I've often used a staff...it just looks good, like an oversized cane. Someone recently tossed me a sword, and I tried to commit seppuku...some flourishes should not be used with a bladed weapon.

"Having an enourmously overblown sense of one's capabilities is NOT a super power. Having such an overblown sense of pride or self preservation that one actually manages to PULL OFF actions equal to one's overblown sense of one's capabilities is closer, but still doesn't count as a super power." -Madame Parker

I usually think dancing with a weapon just looks silly (or lazy, like they forgot to unequip their weapon). I can see why some people would do it as a gimmick though. I broke down and got a staff to use with poplock 2. I really dislike poplock, but I've pretty much been doing popular since I hit novice dancer and I'm gettinga little tiredof it and need a change. The spinning staff is a real eye-catcher and the enhancementmakes poplock endurable.

I agree it looks silly...but in the desert dancing can be quite hazardous! Just last night I was called to accompany several men making their way to Oasis. We had to stop along the way because we were attacked. As I was busy dancing to heal them up, one of the attackersbuddies popped up and started shooting me! Had I not been armed, it could have been deadly for me!

Oh be careful in your house, too! Twice I have been attacked while doing housework! The invaders end up dead in my doorway ( being smooshed as the door opens and closes on their cold dead corpse!) but it just proves the point that this is a rough place and you aren't safe even in your own home!

Although sometimes, I admit, I forget to remove my weapon when I arrive back in town, I usually just shrug it offand comment "hehehe sometimes ya gotta threaten em to watch ya" or "a woman can't be too careful in THIS part of town!".
