I have lavender skin, so dark colors work really well as an offset. I wear black shorts, jacket, gloves, and boots. A simple outfit, really. I need to buy a dress and a black lekku wrap, though.

It utterly amazes me that my current outfit... brown jacket, pendant, midnight shorts, brown boots, and backpack...yes, backpack (I'm having an inventory problem that will be fixed)...is getting me a ton of tips. Since I'm dancing in the backwoods of Corellia (Daoba Guerful), I can only assume I'm appealing to the scouts and hunters in a tomboy sense.
I'm really looking forward to my tailor, Sai', getting up to the bodywraps and such, though. She's made some really nice things that I wear when not dancing, such as a midnight/lapis flowing skirt and matching top (my current dancing outfit doesn't coordinate because I only have one jacket...it was designed for my scouting gear, not dancing, but somehow it works anyways, with the matching boots.).

Glad to see that so far no one's said "Underwear."

Guys, small tip...leave the hotpants shorts to the girls (and not alot of girls can pull the look off, either.)

Now that is definitely a matter of opinion...

Wellll....ok, I can see where some orange hotpants on a green Rodian might have a certain appeal....

Dear Oh Dear, you girls are soooo last season. Everybody, who is anybody is currently wearing a bustier (either style), or maybe the Infiltration suit, if they are feeling lithe. Get with the program!

Oh, trust me, I would love to. I haven't had the opportunity to, as yet. (MY playtime is very limited until the DSL gets fixed, so I squeeze what I can where I can)

Luckily, out in the boonies, they're 2 seasons behind, so I'm still cutting edge.

Drygo - nice to see that ther are other male dancers out there. I have almost mastered the skill on bloodfin. I do very well for myself and have established quite a following for myself there. Last week i put everything I had into some new outfits, As you well know, it is slim pickens for a male dancer. I had them all custom made from tailors of different skill. Since then, I have been offered 5 housed for my outfit, I get compliments all the time, everyone is asking where i got it from, my tips have almost trippled, and a tailor who made part of the outfit has now opened a shop with designs inspired by my look.

I don't mind saying that when i had enough points to become a novice dancer that I did not have the funds to train in it. I turned to e-bay and bought 50K credits. I have used the credits to pay for my training, travel, and wardrobe. That 50k is long gone but I am doing very well on my own now.

My most popular outfit is:

White reinforced pants (with black reinforcements) - around 700 - 1k

Black solf undershirt with **edit**e sholders (and back) - aroudn 300 - 400 credits

A white sholder strap (very cheap)

White gloves. (also cheap)

Black sturdy boots with white tips. (around 400 credits maybe)

and a Black opened cloak (3.5K)

I have other outfits that work well too... but when doing poplock2 with this getup -i can turn 5 - 10 K a night sometimes in tips.

I plan on getting a black twe'lik headpeice with white accents as soon as my tailor can craft it (early this week) - i tried one on and believe it or not it looks great with the outfit.

I also have a black jumpsuit as well that i wear.

The most important part of the job is to make yourself noticed and don't be one of those afk dancers. Socialize with the people in the bar. Get around. Get your name out there, and most of all have fun!

If you are having fun doing something, the crowd will have fun watching you and will show their appreciation. One other Tip (no pun intended) don't ask for tips. I was doing that when i first started danceing and made some, but not asking for tips and actually entertaining you will make more tips than asking for them.

PS Please excuse spelling. got to head to work

I wear a revealing fleshwrap or an exquisite gown, depending on the look I'm going for, both in black, with black dress slippers...

Erm.. when?

I have a little.. problem with buying too many clothes

Depending on the dance or audience, I might wear a fleshwrap or exotic leotard. For certain customers, I wear bikini top (revealing) and bottom, because they've said they like it. For formal and lyrical, I'll wear a long skirt and bustier - either light or small. When I play music it's usually the ballgown, exquisite, or ermm the off the shoulder one (can't think of name)

And occasionally, if Im feelin frisky, it's hotpants with a bustier, though less likely since getting my wraps.

Oh. And I generally have on a bone crest or lekku wrap now that they're more available. <g>

Ha! Adara you have a little problem with buying too many clothes? Um, how about, you buy new clothes everyday? I'm just kidding. It's more like every other day. Unfortunately I'm cursed with the same problem. I'm currently cycling through my flesh wrap, exotic leotard, and the dress with the long neck tie. I'm a fanatic about headdresses and I am trying to find at least one of each of the Mater Tailor's creations. Tonight I'm visiting my favorite tailor and *hopefully* he can show me everything he can make. I don't like the big gowns because they look really bulky and not that great to dance in. I like to wear as little as possible. Too bad the guys don't have something more appealing to wear. <g>

I missed a day once!! =P

Unless of course you count buying something from the bazaar because none of my tailors were available <grin>

Wait - and does it count if I ordered it yesterday and it comes today?

I like my clothes! And I share with people who have none - so I need to constantly replenish stocks <g>

I do think it would be nice to see more options for male dancers and entertainers. The formal outfits or jeans and what not are attractive and all, but ya think they'd have some kind of option that is the male sexy equivalent of the wraps and such.

What about wookies? What can female wookies wear to dance that actually looks *good*, as opposed to being hide based rugged clothing? I mean, I think I look best without any clothes on (my fur's lovely) but I wouldn't mind some jewellery. Can wookies wear jewellery? Hmm.
