I will do that! How nice to see you are all together!

I was just thinking today how much I miss Moenia and the cantina there on Beta's Bria. I am enjoying Starsider as well but will stop by soon to see all of you.

Unfortunately, Chilastra is as full as Starsider! Hope to see you soon.

Yeah, getting people to be regular customers is one of the most direct ways to increasing your tips. Engaging in short conversations about people's adventures outside the cantina can be quite fun, and it will help the person remember you, or at least the cantina they got healed at.

It will be interesting 'Seph to see where the credit ends up on the value scale. I wonder if it will become different on different servers? That would be interesting! :-)

I've only gotten about 200 credits in tips in the past 2 days. It doesn't bother me too much though. I took about 3 hours today and did missions and made about 5000 credits. So that's not too bad. I took alot of the high paying missions and just shuttle hopped from city to city. And if I had to wait for a shuttle I danced right out there in the street...I got the beat tip form someone while waiting at the Bestine shuttle port, of all things I got Scooby Snacks

People alot of times don't tip or tip 5 credits because they don't understand that if we are dedicated to dancing our methods of making those thousands of credits for training are limited to delivery missions. Its up to us to educate them in a positive way that its the right thing to do.

Personally I don't care much about tips I have enough weapons skills to go out and do the low 1500 credit destroy missions so I take 2 at a time and make 3k a run. There is also the option of running delivery missions while not as lucrative if you take 2 and start off running around the planet you can make several k in just a little bit.

Going with some artisan will help but unless you devote alot of time to it and skill points you can never really make alot to pay for training and our clothes.

In beta people tipped pretty heavy but we all knew it would end soon so everyone was pretty free with the cash.

Just wanted to note that delivery missions is not the only way. The gig missions are wonderful for entertainers. Someone has already writtem a good FAQ on these so I won't repeat them. But suffice to say you can get a music and a dance gig from the nobles in the theatre, keep choosing one until they are in walking distance and you will average about 800-900cr for about 10-20 mins of time (depending on if you get someone to watch you). I like them more than delivery missions because you are USING your own skills that you work so hard for

Just bear it in mind as an alternative when you are fed up with deliveries

to all those who worry about making money as a dancer, afew things have worked for me:

1. just be friendly to as many people as you can. people respond to nice-ness.

2. sometimes they don't tip because they lack funds to do so.

3. don't mention tips unless they ask you directly about it. it turns people off, and i have noticed significantly fewer tips for everyone if someone's begging for tips.

4. make sure to thank everyone. thank those who tip you, and thank your medics too! they keep you dancing by replenishing those action points! you will likely have repeat customers. And if you appreciate THEM, they'll appreciate YOU, too!

i have had people give me multiple tips in one sitting (not to mention gifts of jewelry, food, clothing, and weapons), i made 10k in one evening, and i have made LOTS of new friends and contacts from this.

I'm hesitant to greet people I don't know by name...because in character, how do I know it?...but I'll use /emits to make it obvious that I noticed them.

And on another point...while large cities are where the crowds are at, being an entertainer on the frontier means you're a rarity...and mucho sought after. Supply & demand...people tend to tip more.

Likewise, for the private cantinas being slowly set up...and I'll be setting one a huge one in a town with the unlikely name of Volcano on Corellia in Eclipse, soon...the only way to get people to start going to these private cantinas in the first place is for the dancers to head out. You get a good enough one going, and you get the best of both worlds: a hoppin' place on the edge of where everyone's fightning and needs healing.

Well having a friend that is an entertainer, he told me once how little he makes playing in the cantina some times. I use to tip only about 50 in the begining. But then as I got better and found myself making more with missions, I always tip 1k. No matter how little or how much BF. Honestly I just like to see the reaction of the dancer when I tip them that much.

There have been times where I have made a decent living on tips. As stated previously you need to work at it.. be active and friendly and helpful. Dancers who develop a following of sorts usually get tipped very well. When warriors know they can rely on you to be there to heal their BF and have a fun, friendly conversation.. they will reward you for your efforts.

Another source of possible income is training other dancers. I never ask for money from my trainees, but sometimes I do get an unsolicited tip from a student.

By and large, tips are a not-so-reliable source of income. If you need to scrape up 30k for a shopping spree, tips are not the way to do it. As per the laws of the universe.. you get your best tips when you don't need the money
