Ditto. Very self governing.

However, I honestly think you guys are taking it to personally. I know, I know, there really are idiots out there, but come on, there are idiots EVERYWHERE. Just take it IC is the best advice I can give. You havn't had fun till you've repsonded to 10 minutes of a 14 year olds sexual advances ICly, when they can't even tell the difference between the game and real life in the first place. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

I live in this world. I exist in my own.

I've only once so far had an idiot start getting offensive, a big Wookie who was watching me got up and went over to talk to him. Must have been private but forceful, because the idiot suddenly tipped me big time and left in a hurry. I've no idea what the Wookie said, but I danced my tush off fo him for the next twenty minutes or so. We need Wookie bouncers in every Cantina!

None of this upset me, if anything it made it more RL when the Gentle giant sorted the little idiot out! Seen it in RL and now seen it in game!

OK-

I play a Dancer on Corellia...I'don't remember which server,or city....

But I happen to play a big,fat,smarmy,repulsive,bisexual,sweaty,old"disco-era"guy by the name of

STEVE GRUBOWSKI

and,I gotta tell ya; after spending 3 hours+ (IRL) dancing with the same group of folks,I find that the social element often calls for'inappropriate' commentary, from time to time,to gain some true immersion.

I mean,I don't say things that are downright crude and juvinile, but I do occasionally say things like"hey, baby, you sure know how to make a guy's blue-bar raise!"and whatnot.I never try to outsmart the offensive language filter so I can use the "f-word",but....lewd lascivious behavior? CERTAINLY!!!!

I'm sorry, but that's just who Steve Grubowski is!!!

STEVE GRUBOWSKI winks suggestively at ALL of you !

PC bountys anyone? Stop him the RP way. A small fee to have him looking over his shoulder till the hunter closes in and then...

Report him too, thats harassment. But this is why we need the PC bountys, most griefers dont have the patience to become a BH imho.

I have a story that fits into this thread.

I had read several threads about this type of behavior and worse that some entertainers have had to deal with. I was surprised at how many people said /ignore it. Really?

I returned to my home planet of Rori after some pretty arduous traveling experiences had left me with a dire need for BF and mind healing. I went to the Hotel in Restuss and there were no entertainers performing. I shouted and asked if anyone would be so kind as to perform. A dancer ran in and began performing, and roleplaying with me. I tipped her 2 credits per point that I needed healed, and sat back to watch the show. I could "hear" two characters outside, they were begging for money and equipment. I was not impressed with them in the least. Every sentence contained a curse word, and they were so rude that they even ridiculed the people that were foolish (nice?) enough to donate credits or equipment to them. Then I heard one state "Let's go into the cantina." Again.. I was not thrilled to hear they were coming in. Of course they had to prove my assumption that they would be jerks, 100%. The first words out of the "leader's" mouth were "Dance for me Bi***" She asked me if there were a way to report the behaviour. I told her there was, and how, and then told her to announce to the bar in general that she would not perform until the two rude individuals left. They continued a harrassing line of comments, and I stood up and told them to both leave. They laughed and one ran up and emoted belching in my face. I then called out my pet, one Baby Giant Sand Beetle. They were astounded at the size of the creature, and started back pedaling. I then told them "Now leave before he gets hungry." They apologized to the dancer and turned to leave. One announced, "We didn't mean to start trouble." I told them, "Too late, you annoy the performers, the performers don't entertain, I don't get healed... YOU HAVE STARTED TROUBLE!"

If you see outright disruptive behaviour in a club.. don't ignore it. Don't let it slide.

Don't make excuses for not interfering and calling it Role-Playing. If I were in a club, real life or in a game, and someone interuppted the show that I was enjoying, I would deal with them. DEAL WITH THEM! If I were role-playing a jerk ( and I have) I would expect to be ignored, kicked out, or worse have my account banned. Role-playing doesn't mean ruining some one else's enjoyment of the game. Don't tell me that some pre-pubescent jerk being rude is role playing. I guarantee you, the ring leader of that little scenario is a jerk in the game, and jerk in real life. He wasn't role-playing anything, he was just being himself.

Role players don't apologize for rude behaviour and then start doing the exact same thing again. Where in there were they being true to a characer?

Another thought extending the /addignore strategy-

Announce in caps that %TT is being an idiot (or whatever you like) by engaging is abusive tellsand that you are putting him/her on your ignore list.

This gives the heads up to the other dancers, embarasses the jerk, and creates the discipline of shunning which can be extremely effective.

My Doc used a similar technique when some monkey came into the med center demand that he be healed first then spamming /pukes, /spitsand /slaps at me. The other medics followed suit. Not sure where the guy is now. Maybe he left town. But he no longer exists as far as I am concerned 8).

Bragging about how "erotic" your avatar is then acting offended when you draw the same comments as any other stripper is just goofy & hypocritical. Don't want negative attention from prepubescent boys? Stow awayyour equallyprepubescent attention-wallowing behavior. You're not gonna get to pick & choose WHICH sort of attention acting whorish gets you.

It's as if I walked dow nthe street at 3 AM with a garter belt & a miniskirt & teased out hair, hung around under a street light...then got enraged when some chump pulled up & tried to pay me 50 bucks for sex.

I totally agree with Wolf. I f you a "Warrior type" as the Dancers in Kaadar like to call all us weapon weilders stand up for you entertainers gosh darn it. DOn't let them get harressed like this. Even in role play there is a certain lvl of honor that should be held.

I if I happen to be in a cantina and see this nonsence would be more then happy to tell them to leave or even go as far as to duel them.

This stuff is ridculiuos. I understand the need for the Market SWG is going after but there are just lines in clear blk and wht that should not be crossed.

Heck we could even makea new profession out of this. Personal Security Specalist. Get paid to deal with these little annoyances. :-)

Thats my thoughts.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see some people step up and be bodyguards/ bartenders for the cantinas.. it's really what we need, it would be wonderful for roleplay and for cutting down on some of the obnoxiousness. Where I perform 90% of the people are perfectly well behaved, but there are always a few losers who have to be obnoxious. There have been times when our entertainers have been challenged to duels. I'm proud to say that so far none of 'em lost.

Personally my character is NO slave, and NO wallflower and she will not take crap. She doesn't care if she gets killed or maimed, she will stand up for herself. I actually had a guy today, this wasn't sexual harassment but it was rude, he said I should tip him for healing him since I was getting experience anyway. I announced to the entire place.. "Well I am going to stop now because I'm getting experience off of "X" and he doesn't want me to!" and sat down. He left pretty fast after that.

And Ninja, just shut up. You're a punk. There's no call to be rude to your fellow players no matter what class they play.

I totally agree with PaintWolf... DO NOT LET IT SLIDE OR THEY WILL DO IT TO OTHER PEOPLE. IF YOU PUT THEM ON IGNORE, sure they will get bored, but they move on... TO THE NEXT PERSON DANCING AND IT SUCKS FOR THE ONES WHO HAVEN'T PUT THEM ON IGNORE. HANDLE WHEN IT STARTS.. I do.

That same thing happened to me once. First he would come in and say "Someone pay me 50cr and I will dance for you."

Then a few days later he got novice medic and came up to me and healed me a very tiny bit and said "I healed you 50 pay me 50cr"

I was like I didn't ask you to heal me. I get healed all day long for free and 50cr is more than I have made in the last hour.

I think he finally learned his lesson and now he doesn't do that sort of thing anymore. He's one of those people who's screennames are like this "IaMsTuPiD". I mean who does that upper lowercase thing? That just tells me right there that you are 12.

i had another guy call me a moron the other night for no reason other than he wanted to stop him. One of the regulars killed him. His corpse was there for hours and he never came back. hehe.

I think there needs to be a new profession. Bartender/Bouncer.

Basically when the bartender and or the bouncer signs on duty for the night they have control of the bar. When someone of the ilk of the 14 year olds starts their routine the bartender has the power to "86" them. This will help to prevent this kind of behavior and allow players more control over this kind of behavior.
